Immigration Reform: Will We EVER Learn?

David Vitter (R-LA) tweeted out parts of the Corker-Hoeven-Rubio Amendment to the bill on Twitter over the weekend: “Page 4-6 of Corker-Hoeven-Rubio substitute of #Gangof8 bill lets wife beaters, drunk drivers, and child abusers get amnesty.” Because we need more violent men in America. “Page 92: Corker amnesty amendment mandates border agents learn ‘cultural sensitivity’ & ‘environmental concerns.’” Because we can’t hurt their feelings as they break our laws and litter our deserts with trash. “Page 94 creates Task Force with experts in ‘migration, civil & human rights, community relations & quality of life.’” No need for experts in enforcement, right? “Page 121 of Corker amendment says illegal immigrants can keep their confiscated property. Wonder if Federales extend same courtesy to Americans?” I’m thinking that would be a no.

Bring on the pork: “Found 8 “emergency spending” items so far to hide true costs.” And the best: “Harry Reid drew pocket aces in the #immigration agreement. Made his tourism (Vegas) promotion agency permanent. P66 of Corker-Hoeven amend.” But wait, even Alaska is in on it. The traitorous Gang of Eight are bribing Republican Lisa Murkowski and Democrat Mark Begich with a jobs program for more low-wage guest workers who will be allowed to enter the country to process Alaskan seafood. No other state gets that kind of treatment.

Have you ever seen what happens when you give in to a two year old temper tantrum? They get worse. Human natures dictates that stopping bad behavior means removing the payoff for it. Logic people, pure logic. Find those who shouldn’t be here and send them back where they came from. Call me heartless, but my child’s college education should come before an illegal’s, and my bills shouldn’t skyrocket to foot the bill for their free healthcare and welfare.

I’m all for the melting pot that is America, but only for those who have enough respect for America that they follow the laws put in place to get here. That isn’t asking too much.
