NSA Scandal: Can You Hear Me Now? Hear You? We Can’t Shut You Off!

Written by Marilyn Assenheim on June 18, 2013

Big Sis has been plastered all over the news, insisting that we are NOT living in an Orwellian State. Politicker quotes the Homeland Security Oberfuhror thusly: “I think people have gotten the idea that there’s an Orwellian state out there that somehow we’re operating in. That’s far from the case … No one should believe that we are simply going willy-nilly and using any kind of data that we can gather …” Of course not. A regime propagandist says so, so we are forced to believe it is true. It seems the lady doth protest too much.

The Lyin’ King is now, thanks to AT&T, a constant, unstoppable intrusion in our lives. Liberty is no longer being eroded a bit at a time; it’s being ripped away in chunks, in the name of “security.” Big Sis insists that there’s nothing to see here. Benjamin Franklin’s caution deserves repeating: “They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither safety nor liberty.” Maybe AT&T can hear that, now.
