NSA Scandal: Finally, We Have Bipartisanship
Many people point to our unique form of government as a reason for our national prominence. But, the French historian Alexis De Tocqueville insisted that America was great because it was good. He echoed Adams admonition that our Constitution was only fit for a moral people. The tyranny of the mob seen in the French Revolution was proof enough that the kind of individual liberty granted our people will only survive in a nation ruled by moral people. What has made America great is its spiritual heritage. The Great Awakenings did more to make America great and bring about an end to slavery than any document or war. The revivals of the 18th through the 20th century have kept us great. America needs a revival to restore our nation.
In his book Liberty and Tyranny, Mark Levin illuminates that the real division in our land is not between Republican and Democrat, but between those who look to government as provider and those who look to God. To the atheist, secular, humanist, post modernist, the state is the source of life. As their need for a big brother grows exponentially, power is consolidated in the hands of the governing class of sinful people of both parties. And we know that absolute power corrupts absolutely. That is where we are in America today.
At worship today we heard a great message from a Bangladeshi pastor who evangelizes Muslims. He’s planting a new church every three weeks. It occurred to me that the gospel is the only hope of protecting us from terrorism. The NSA, is not going to protect us.
The Obama regime along with Republican leadership and the media are lining up to demonize Snowden. But, should we trust this government that uses the IRS to attack their political foes? Should we trust all of these congressmen to oversee all of this and protect us? They are a joke! How did their oversight work with the IRS, DOJ, Fast and Furious, AP wiretapping, etc.? This is all about power and control over the populace. This power in the hands of sinful people of both parties will not turn out well.
Be warned, your government is at war with you and it’s bipartisan!
