Toss ‘im Out? Colorado Recall for Gun Control Dem Senate Leader

433px-Nalukataq_Blanket_Toss_BarrowThe fight over the U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment was front and center in Colorado earlier this year, and the state’s Senate President, Democrat John Morse, led the fight against it and thought he had won. Well, that battle which he led may have cost him his senate seat, as gun rights supporters overwhelmingly submitted 16,000 signatures, which far exceeded the 7,178 valid signatures required, for a recall election.

Many gun rights supporters from across the nation remember the Obama led avalanche of histrionics that followed the tragic shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn. This act unleashed a whirlwind of attacks against gun owners and their right to own and defend themselves to possess legal weapons for legal uses.

Instead, President Obama, as well as Vice President Joe Biden, decided to not focus on the true cause of the massacre of innocent lives, which was tied to mental health agencies and their lack of oversight and exercise of responsibility. The knee jerk reaction of Obama, Biden and state governors like Andrew Cuomo, as well as the main stream press, sought to criminalize legal rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.

Democrat State Senator John Morse sought to take advantage of the furor by ushering in gun control legislation that would severely cripple the rights of gun owners in Colorado. Interestingly enough, on Tuesday, James Holmes, the shooter in the Aurora, Colorado murders last year, had his insanity pleas accepted by the judge in the case.

Whether James Holmes is mentally ill or not, it is absolutely clear that legitimate law abiding citizens of Colorado did not pull the trigger in that shooting, or in any other state where these mass attacks have taken place like, Tucson, Arizona and Newtown, Conn.

Apparently the Democrat senate leader seemed to forget who he was elected to serve and what his oath of office is. He decided to push his own liberal political agenda, so that he would be in lock step with a president, who thumbs his own nose at the U.S. Constitution whenever the occasion suits him. State Senator John Morse should have waited just a little longer to see that his own gun control president failed to get his legislation passed in the U.S. Senate that his own party controls.

As is Obama’s custom, he gins up the false premises out in the hinterlands and then leaves those who followed his bidding to twist in the wind. Well, Senator Morse and other state leaders around the nation that felt that they were bullet proof from the voters who were having their constitutional rights stripped away, should wake up.
