Ace Ventura Alert! About that Jim Carrey Apology to Gun Owners … ?
Kickass 2? Burt Wonder-whatever? I have no interest in either of them now, no interest whatsoever. Sorry, Jim, you lost a few fans on this one. Even I know that there are things you don’t do when in the public eye, and I’m not anywhere near as big as Jim Carrey is. I’m relatively new to the “spotlight”, and I’m pretty much still a nobody, yet I have the common sense to know that I should not say certain things because of my growing visibility! Don’t these celebrities have entire departments of PR people that monitor what they do?
I recently discovered Vine , and I will admit that I have been getting a little carried away the last few days on there. In some cases I gave a post some deeper thought and I realized that I was pushing the limits too far even for an extreme comic. So I deleted those posts. Late last night, one of my fellow artists called me and advised me to drop a video from my Youtube channel because of the really bad quality and content.
My point is that there are people looking out for my image, I’m absolutely sure that someone in Carrey’s circle warned him about releasing this ridiculous project. Yet he released it anyway. That indicates to me that he simply didn’t care about offending us gun owners. I suppose that he didn’t think gun owners were fans, or that we would take notice or even care. Well, we noticed Jim, and those of us that were fans have moved on. You messed up and we can see right through your pathetic apology. Man up and own your view, don’t back down now, it’s too late.
