OJ Simpson, Trayvon Martin and Race War Agitators
I don’t understand how any group (this means you Black Panthers) can call for violence against an individual as a response to violence. Citing a $10,000 bounty and saying “An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth” couldn’t be any clearer. And where were you guys when OJ Simpson was out for an evening drive in his Bronco? The brutal, horrific death of a white woman (also unarmed) isn’t compelling enough to call for an eye for an eye? How about a tooth for a tooth in the Caylee Anthony case?
Did Spike Lee retweet the home address he thought was George Zimmerman’s to incite even more violence? Or maybe he just wanted to invite him to his next movie premiere.
Race never should have been made an issue in this case. But from the first whiff of the media, it has been front and center. They and others so badly wanted this to be white vs. black. They salivated for sound bites from Al Shaprton and Mikhail Muhammad and Spike Lee. And they’re salivating for riots. They WANT a reaction. The bigger the reaction, the bigger the story. Never mind what it will do to neighborhoods and entire cities. Never mind the potential that exists for another person to die.
This case is about the tragic consequences of split second decisions. It’s about a young man that shouldn’t have died and an adult that shouldn’t have been forced to protect himself.
