BOOM: Walmart pulls ‘Naughty Leopard’ Halloween Costume for TODDLERS after Parents Raise Hell
Walmart stores are pulling a ‘Naughty Leopard’ costume from shelves after parents complained that it sexualizes little girls.
The $19.97 costume, made for toddlers, features a black dress with purple leopard trim and a headband with cat ears attached.
Consumerist first reported on the costume after a tipster sent a photo.
Walmart spokeswoman Danit Marquardt told KATU on Wednesday that stores are now pulling the costume from the shelves.
‘It was never our intention to offend anyone and we apologize to any customers who may have been offended by the name of the costume,’ Marquardt said.
The costume is still available online, however, and the name has been changed to ‘Leopard Child Halloween Costume.’
Customers took to social media to voice their disapproval of the costume.
