Story Must Be Told, Pt 18: Left’s Legacy: The Traitors Move Amongst Us
As I’ve tried to illustrate throughout this entire series, the Left now has an ulterior motive built directly into its DNA, which is the complete re-engineering of American society and her people. Concrete and current examples of this might be an Obama stimulus plan that turns out to simply be a typical Liberal spending spree, and not stimulative, or a healthcare bill that Democrats attempt to ram through Congress and then debate after the fact. Since both actions either severely damage the economy and/or our future, I would argue that neither is a patriotic act. They do, however, fit neatly into an ideology meant to alter, and I would argue to weaken society.
Democrats (the influential among them) are simply playing this system to their advantage. They, like Herbert Marcuse, are using the distress of certain people to eventually weaken all of society to the breaking point. That’s one of the reasons you see this angry blow-back at town hall healthcare meetings (Summer, 2009) by Conservative types and others. These people might not have been paying attention when Bush was spending us into the poorhouse, but they sure are now. And I think it’s partly because they see the unbelievable arrogance displayed by Democrats now that they’ve seized almost every lever of power. They see that we’re in a hole, a deep hole, and Obama, et al continue to dig it deeper. They know that it’s a disaster in the making and they get understandably furious.
In this series it has been my hope to establish the connection between, Marx, Freud, 20th Century Communism, Cultural Marxists and the vast network of educational and media allies who are all pulling society in a similar direction – all to the far Left. The proof that the Left has been so successful is proven out by the fact that even though they are outnumbered by Moderates and Conservatives by two to one, most elections are still very close to 50/50. This is also a testament to Conservative values, since Conservatives have to fight their way through all of the smoke and mirrors put up by the Left in order to get their message out. And, Republican’s still manage to win about 50% of the time, as well.
Another goal of mine was to open people’s eyes to some of the institutions and schools of thought that they might not have known about. Certainly, before I started this quest, there was a whole lot that I didn’t know about either. Now that I do, it explains a great deal about the Left – at least to me. It has made me question, and I hope it does you, the motivations of those on the political Left, who I believe have gotten a pass for way too long now. Too many of the people in power – the one’s who are supposed to be looking out for us, for ALL of us – are actually part of the game, e.g., media, education, political groups, Sesame Street, etc.
As Cicero said, “A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.” — Cicero (106-43 BC)
And, let’s not forget the cries of the 60’s college hippies. “Hey Hey, Ho Ho, Western Civ has got to go.” Now, a lot of these same boys and girls are running us into the ditch, just like they ran the 60’s into the ditch.
Throughout history, other societies have changed their social institutions or their religious beliefs under the influence of external forces or the slow development of internal growth. But none, like our own, has ever consciously faced the prospect of a fundamental change of the beliefs and institutions on which the entire fabric of social life rests. At present, our society is being uprooted from its foundations in nature and tradition and is being reconstituted under a new organizational model which is as artificial and mechanical as a modern factory.
The people who hate America, and need it to “stink” before it’s been transformed into the totalitarian nightmare it will surely become, cannot understand that America has always been an amazing combination of freedom and equality. Somehow, Americans have found a way to be fully modern, free, and prosperous without abandoning the qualities that make traditional societies so appealing.
As author Victor David Hanson said recently:
Americans are a naturally generous people, who are open, friendly, and industrious. They reflect the decency of their culture … The daily squalor and random cruelty of the Third World are mostly absent here, and we are far less cynical, conniving, and dour than the grim European utopians, whose social network is subsidized by an American military that patrols their fairyland Shire like Aragorn’s quiet stealthy rangers.
Next week, I conclude this series with a plea to Americans (and to the citizens of all nations) to consider FREEDOM as prerequisite to ANY future progress made by man. Indeed, without it there is no hope.
