Behold! Europe Begins to Retreat from Her Green Policy

Europe, considered the long-time leader in the sanctimonious war against global warming, is backing off its crusade. This is big news everywhere; just not in America.

Although the story began appearing on blogs last week, stories detailing and confirming the new direction have appeared in such international publications as Süddeutsche Zeitung, Spiegel Online International, Canada Free Press and Italy’s The Medi Telegraph. Gregor Peter Schmitz writes in Spiegel Online International:

…(EU) Commission sources have long been hinting that the body intends to move away from ambitious climate protection goals. At the request of Commission President JosĂ© Manuel Barroso, EU member states are no longer to receive specific guidelines for the development of renewable energy…As of 2020 at the latest — when the current commitment to further increase the share of green energy expires — climate protection in the EU will apparently be pursued on a voluntary basis.

The significance of this news is two-fold. Firstly, the story matters because it doesn’t originate from some penny-ante outfit. The EU’s withdrawal from its previous stance comes directly from the European Commission, the European Union’s executive branch. Europe has been beleaguered by onerous environmental policies since 1972. The cost to member nations and their citizens (through usurious taxing) has been astronomically expensive.

Europe’s pullback from decades of global wishful thinking comes at the same time that statists at America’s helm are seeking to impose escalating and oppressive rules and regulations on us. Forty years of experience have finally slapped Europe back to consciousness. Here, however, America is being clubbed into a coma. The subject of global warming is not a science. It is, rather, a religion. Those tasked with protecting America and her interests, seek to saddle her, instead, with manufactured burdens and greater dependence on her enemies. Why?

Secondly, this news is vital because Europe is seeking to advance her energy independence by exploring her own resources. Specifically, through fracking. Spiegel Online reports : “The EU’s reputation as a model of environmental responsibility may soon be history. The European Commission wants to forgo ambitious climate protection goals and pave the way for fracking…The report says the Commission does not intend to establish strict rules for the extraction of shale gas, but only minimum health and environmental standards.”

That’s not all; nuclear power is making a European comeback as well. As Europe regains consciousness about her best interests, environmentalist zealots in America’s government, and all of their camp followers, are dead set on manhandling America in the opposite direction.

No matter how much environmental dogma rails against deniers, there is too much evidence to the contrary. Just ask the people aboard ships that got trapped in polar ice, during the polar summer, a few weeks ago. Still, fanatics claim the moral high ground; “consensus” of scientists. But science never consists of a “consensus;” science is always absolute. In addition, former adherent scientists are deserting the Global Warming cabal daily. Including many of the myth’s founders.

The Lyin’ King continues to funnel taxpayer dollars to Green Energy charlatans while destroying America’s ability to develop her own abundant energy sources. He is decimating America’s ability to drill and mine. The long knives are now out to stop fracking.

Europe is waking up; it is critical that America sets her alarm clock, too.
