It Isn’t Funny: It’s Insane…Tolerate Everything? Respect Nothing

Media analyst Mark Dice created a preposterous lie to see just how witless Californians are. The falsehood, that John Boehner dislikes Mexican food so The Lyin’ King asked him to resign, provided the answer. Very.

Labeled “bigotry,” Infowars.com shared responses from those polled: “I think people in his district should consider voting for somebody else” and “(Boehner should be) made an example of, so that other people don’t repeat such comments in the future” to “(calling) for Boehner to resign before stating, ‘hail Obama!’.” Meant to be funny, Dice’s cock-and-bull story illustrates how quickly PC proponents seize the race card to dominate the moral high ground. But falsified examples aren’t necessary; genuine insanity has become common:

Minnesota State Senate approves changing the name of “Asian carp” to “Invasive carp.” The fish were introduced into the U.S. from China and Vietnam. The name never generated a single complaint from Minnesotans. The mere possibility that it might offend someone, however, was sufficient motivation for the PC-driven Senate. http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2014/04/28/asian-carp-gets-a-makeover-in-minn-senate/

Americans are now racists for waving the American flag. http://www.wnd.com/2014/05/americans-now-racist-for-waving-u-s-flag/#S44t0hJ4MoF82H6A.99

This last item was a nod to the perceived dominance of Mexican culture.

Cinco de Mayo” is not Mexican Independence Day, which occurs on September 16th. It isn’t even known as Cinco de Mayo in the Pueblo region where the occasion is observed. It honors a victory Mexican forces won over a larger, French force in the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Texans fought alongside Mexicans. Mexico, as a whole, does not observe the event. But here’s the kicker; Cinco de Mayo was invented as a beer marketing opportunity.

From Business Insider: “In the early 1980s, Anheuser-Busch and Miller Company created Hispanic Marketing departments and began sponsoring Cinco de Mayo celebrations…Decades later the party remains a key means of marketing to the Hispanic beer market.” That party really arrived in 1989, when Corona Extra finished parlaying the myth into material existence.

Like Kwanzaa, created by the FBI in 1966 (http://dailycaller.com/2012/12/30/kwanzaa-is-a-ridiculous-racist-holiday/), Cinco de Mayo has become part of the fabric of reality. It is an ad campaign elevated to advance a political agenda. Adopted as inviolable by the likes of La Raza, Cinco de Mayo is wielded by Latino radicals as a weapon to prevent America from experiencing national pride. Such expressions are reserved only for the righteous. Acolytes of PC, who still refuse to connect the dots, are their willing accomplices. We used to laugh off such harbingers of trouble. That’s how we got here and we are finding that it isn’t quite so funny anymore.

On Monday, WND reported:

Americans now are being blasted as ‘racist’ for the simple act of displaying an American flag.

It happened Monday in California to a small group of protesters who waved U.S. flags in front of a school where officials had banned the practice to avoid violence threatened by Hispanic students celebrating Cinco de Mayo. The controversy developed in 2010, when school officials ordered students not to wear U.S. flag-themed shirts on the Mexican holiday…The controversy brought a small group of protesters out Monday, and the community reacted immediately. “What’s wrong with these white people holding up American flags in Morgan hill??? Racist a–holes,” wrote Gia Lee in a feed monitored by Twitchy.

One is compelled to ask; if an American displaying an American flag is “racist,” what does that make Lee? Since when is displaying America’s flag, in America, racist? Because those searching for a reason to be disgruntled, with the blessings of those willing to tolerate their insanity, decide to push the edge of the envelope? To judge from the shamelessly presumptuous comments Lee’s admirers posted, secure in the righteousness of the aggrieved, the answer to “since when” would be “always.” Much as they may want it, however, the recent success of injured parties to reinvent outcomes of experiences unfavorable to their desires just won’t make it so.

Rewriting history is a dangerous endeavor. PC trends are, however, making it a safer path to pursue of late. The danger of kowtowing to every culture but our own has become a serious hazard rather than a matter to laugh at and shrug off. Respect is a two-way street. There is no logical reason to accept that every race and nationality on earth has the right to be proud of its heritage…with the exception of America.

Alexis de Tocqueville foresaw future pitfalls when he restated Plato’s original caution against “the tyranny of the majority” in Democracy in America. But he couldn’t predict that PC would turn the tables. Now we are struggling, some of us still clueless, against the tyranny of the minority. It is well past time to start pushing back. If being offended is the key then most of America is very deeply offended. It is time to say so, at the top of our voices and in large numbers, without the false shame being imposed on us by the self-appointed possessors of morally superiority.
