Pony Up! Responsible for Financial Reparations to African-Americans?

Imagine how you would feel if you were going through the day’s mail and stuck between the cable bill and the mortgage payment was a bill from the government asking you to pay reparations to compensate blacks for slavery. Sounds farfetched but it is beginning to gain steam and support from liberals like the Slate online magazine according to U.S.
Patriot
. What is your response and equally important does it make any kind of sense?

Of course this is not new because after all liberals and many blacks that have drank from the well of “they owe me for what happened to my people”, keep kindling the fire. There have even been congressmen like John Conyers (D) of Detroit who most recently used fabricated methods to regain a primary spot in the upcoming August election, that have demanded reparations be made.

So what does this all mean for Americans, and especially for white American liberals and their “give me my ancestor’s back pay” minority supporters? In reality, according to Slate, because the government, which had indicated to slaves that they would receive their 40 acres and a mule to make up for being held in bondage, the price has definitely gone up.

Now, it seems that not only should the descendants of the slaves receive reparations based upon how they were treated by their white masters, but the government is also responsible for injustices since slavery. These injustices “created a formula based on the disenfranchisement of blacks throughout the 20th century,” reported U.S. Patriot .

Well last time anyone checked the slavery clock, it ran out when the Civil War ended in 1865. Now in all fairness, if one can truly find a slave still alive after 149 plus years, then he or she might have a claim. To take it one step further, if a child of a slave just happened to be alive, as my grandfather Rev. Jonathan Fobbs was who was born in 1880 and died at 96 in 1976; he might have some type of possible claim. But, in all reality he has passed away, and in fact saw America quite differently than the “handout crowd” that adores Obama and these fanciful claims.

Unlike them, he went to college as did my grandmother, and he and she graduated in 1902 without asking for one single solitary handout or reparation. They only desire was to be treated equally and fairly under the law and that opportunities are afforded them based upon their skills and achievement and not upon the color of their skin or previous state of servitude of their parents.

In fact, the teacher and pastor Jonathan Fobbs signed up and joined the United States Army at the age of 37, with a wife and family, even though there was lynching occurring not just in his Louisiana parish, but all over the south. He was an American first and last and it was that belief that steadied his spirit and his allegiance to the nation of his birth.

So you see the language of reparations is the hideout for the den of lies that are perpetrated upon blacks who still live on urban plantations that liberals have created. It seems that they have not received the memo from President Lincoln that slavery has ended.

It appears that they did not hear the “I Have a Dream” speech of Rev. Martin Luther King, when he said that black people, like all Americans, “should not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character!”

So what of the idea that white Americans somehow should pony up and pay into reparation’s pot for something that many of their ancestors were not even in the country to have taken part in, owning slaves? Of course liberals have an answer for that one too.

According to the article, “even if your Irish immigrant grandparents never owned slaves, or even lived around black people, they still reaped the fruits of state-sanctioned—and state-directed—theft, through cheap loans, cheap education, and an unequal playing field,” said U.S. Patriot.

Well, here’s a news flash!

This is the 21st century and not the 19th century. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy that says that lift yourself up, and make something of yourself, because the chains liberals claim hold you are rusted. There are no free days at the public till and there is not a single solitary soul alive that keeps you shackled.
Rev. Jonathan Fobbs lived a long life as a writer and he taught school, built churches and protected and uplifted lives of those who wanted the American Dream to apply. He was a no-nonsense American who happened to be black, and not a black man who happened to be American.

So the next time the reparations train comes your way, Americans should not only ignore it, but derail it once and for all. Like the Pony Express and the telegraph those days are in the past. So Americans keep your money in your pocket, and send back the reparations bill marked, “undeliverable”.
