There seems to be some fogginess as to what is the proper term to call those barbaric terrorists now operating in parts of Syria, Libya and Iraq, and who publicly beheaded four westerners.  Our Islamist-in-chief has told his underlings to refer to them as ISIL, which is granting them theoretical governance of a much larger portion of the muddled middle east than they actually control.   The “L” refers to the Levant. The Levant, also known as the Eastern Mediterranean, is a geographic and cultural region consisting of the “eastern Mediterranean littoral between Anatolia and Egypt”.  The Levant today consists of Cyprus, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, and part of southern Turkey.

The term Levant, which appeared in English in 1497, originally meant the East in general or “Mediterranean lands east of Italy”.   The notion of the Levant has undergone a dynamic process of historical evolution in usage, meaning, and understanding.   In 19th-century travel writing, the term incorporated eastern regions under then current or recent governance of the Ottoman empire, such as Greece.   Today, “Levant” is typically used by archaeologists and historians with reference to the prehistory and the ancient and medieval history of the region, as when discussing the Crusades.

Our self-styled king, the titular head of the armed forces, has never served a day in any uniformed service–at least not for THIS country, but he professes to know more than his military advisers.  His enormous ego has gotten us so far down in a hole that sunlight has to be pumped in, if we’re to see anything at all.  The proverbial light at the end of the tunnel, so far as he is concerned, is the headlight of a fast-moving freight train–and we’re running down the track in front of it.

With such an ignoramus steering the ship of state we’re heading into a whirlpool of his own making.  It’s easy enough to line up a bunch of clichés to explain the mess that we’re in, but the simple truth, which I believe, is that this president has an agenda–and that agenda calls for the economic, military, and moral destruction of the United States.

No one can prove that, of course, because if they could, there would be an impeachment and a trial for treason.   However, given the things that he has done, none of which improved anything for anybody in this country–and the old saying about if it walks like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck – so, our president is a duck–a Muscovy duck at that.  Now that I’ve given it some thought, there’s some words that rhyme with duck–there’s cluck, muck, suck, and tuck.  Now let’s see how they apply.  He is a cluck, the administration is deep in muck, his decisions mostly suck and he really should tuck his tail between his legs and run out of town.

Have you noticed that former administration people, people who had the inside track about what was going on, have come forward and, one-by-one, denounced the decisions that this president has made?

– Here’s another thought that just popped into my head–the private sector coming to the aid of the government–again.  Of course I’m referring to SpaceX and its ability to shuttle cargo and/or personnel to the International Space Station(ISS)–and for far less, with a quicker turnaround, than NASA was doing.  Oh, and did I mention that with this private operation we won’t be paying the Russians to ride in their spacecraft?  Years ago, there was a rush to get everything under the blanket of the federal government when, in fact, in almost every example, the private sector could do it better, faster, and cheaper.

– For an action in 1966, Ben Adkins, US Army Retired, received the Medal Of Honor from the president on Sept. 15th, 2014.  What in the world takes so long?  There was a good chance that Sergeant Major Adkins might have died before getting the medal he so richly deserved.  Just suppose he had been using a VA hospital facility–that would have increased the probability of his dying before he got the medal–and that would have been a colossal shame.   Our veterans deserve the best, during and after their service–but they’re not getting it.   The same man that touted a reform of the Veteran’s Administration, when he was running for president, that same man allowed that agency to run amok and veterans died, waiting for the appointments that never came.

– If the Senate’s hold on power changes following the midterm elections, maybe, just maybe we can save the country.  It will take a couple parts of the human body that seem to be missing from many members of Congress now.  Those parts would be a spine and testicles.
How could anyone, in good conscience, allow the president to usurp power which is unconstitutional.  For reasons not known to me, they have ceded their power to the president, and he is making no bones about what he plans to do with that power.  Remember two things that he told us: he is going to fundamentally change the United States and he wants a private army.  The former is nearing completion, and the latter is being put together, both of which are detrimental to this country.

Wake up America–your country needs you–now!
