WILLING TO PLEASE–Let People Know What You Want

People like to please. If you let them know what you want and like, most will give it to you.

Kids are a good example. Kids like to please their parents. When they displease you, they know it. You don’t have to tell them what they did wrong. Better to tell them what you’d like to see them do in the future.

Praise people when they do what’s right – when they do their best. Build a relationship of total acceptance and high praise for their best effort and whenever they please you. Scolding and criticizing rarely works.

People remember how you made them feel even after the event or happening is long forgotten. Make them feel good whenever they do their best. At the same time, never try to make good news out of bad. Let bad news and bad results die their natural death. Focus on the positive and what you would like to see going forward.

Give this some thought and try to put it into practice. This will take effort. It’s so easy to criticize. It’s more difficult to suggest what you’d like to see and to let it go at that.

Remember, people like to please. If you let them know what you want and like, most will give it to you.
