BIG QUESTION: Who Killed Michael Brown?

By William Spencer-Hale

It goes without saying that the loss of a life, especially a loss to violence, is a terrible thing. The void left by such a tragedy can never be filled for those left behind. Nothing can replace a son and I, like the rest of America, grieves whenever our sons and daughters are lost, for any reason. However, there is more to the Michael Brown case than the media, in both their naivety on some channels and agenda-driven propaganda on others, is disseminating to the viewers and American public.

When the entire situation is reduced to its least common denominator, a large portion of the blame rests on the shoulders of Lesley McSpadden and Michael Brown, Sr. Traditionally, it is a parent’s responsibility to teach their children right from wrong, good from evil. Petty platitudes, thin excuses and the laying of blame on white racism, the police, our culture or society in general is just a flimsy excuse for a lack of parenting and an absence of God.

All morality, all ethics, all truth begins with a firm education in morality and civics in the home. The parents are the first line of defense against the evil in the world. If parents fail, or refuse, to teach their children correctly, society breaks down and the world burns. Last night we saw Ferguson, Missouri burn; not with righteousness or the flames of justice, but with the petty narcissism of a me-first culture, cultivated by hatred and envy carefully nurtured by professional agitators.

And while young Michael’s parents played their part in his unfortunate and tragic failure, the race-baiting fiends executed their role as well. Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and a host of other traitors to the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. have written the script for failure for today’s generation of black youth. And worse, they actually make a living from it, they profit from it! Think about that for a moment – their primary source of income is to stoke hate and trash the dream of the man they pretend to emulate. Indeed, the Devil was laughing last night while watching MSNBC.

And last, but certainly not least, and this cannot be overlooked, the person most responsible for the death of Michael Brown was Michael himself. Young Michael chose his own course of action; it was he alone that decided to assault Officer Wilson, it was he alone that made the decision to wield violence against an officer of the law.

The primary narrative running through all the media outlets was that Michael Brown was “unarmed.” In truth, there is no such thing as an unarmed man. Violent motivation is a weapon. Violent intent is a weapon. Michael Brown was armed with malice and Officer Wilson was forced to respond accordingly, within the confines of both society’s and nature’s law. As sad as it might be, any one of us would have chosen the same course of action. It has nothing to do with race. It’s only our natural instinct to survive.

So let’s be clear. The death of Michael Brown, while tragic and senseless, was the result of many factors: the insouciant parenting of Lesley McSpadden and Michael Brown, Sr., the constant racist rhetoric of profiteering fools and a lack of personal responsibility inherent in the decedent. Officer Darren Wilson only held the weapon; there were many fingers on the trigger.
