‘THANKSGIVING’ SPELLS: Reasons to Be Thankful

Just a quick “hey everyone” because I took today off to clean and bake for tomorrow. Thanksgiving is here and here’s my yearly wish for y’all.

Last year I took the alphabet and came up with something for each letter that makes me thankful. I’m a bit time challenged this year, so let’s just use the word “thanksgiving” and come up with something for that. Yeah, I know, its very elementary school, but it’s the holiday and time to be more sentimental.

T – I am thankful for time. I never seem to have enough of it and it has seemed to pass so quickly, but just being here and having time… as opposed to not being here meaning my time is done….is something that we should all be thankful for.

H – I am thankful for my home. I have one. Yes, it can be a pain to make mortgage payments and repairs/upkeep on a home, but I have one. Millions of people don’t.

A – I am thankful for my ancestors. I have gotten into genealogy this year and I have found out many things about my family. Mostly what I have found out is that they were, by and large, brave people who wanted to change the world, and many did. Hopefully I can live up to their example.

N – I am thankful for nothing, as in any time I have where there is nothing to do and I can be still and think. It doesn’t happen often!

K – I am thankful for my kids. All difficulties aside, they are the reason that I breathe each day.

S – I am thankful for the spirit of the upcoming Christmas season. It is the one time of year that people go out of their way to try and remember why we celebrate.

G – I am thankful for God. A friend reminded me that I need to remember to say “thank you” to God for everything and it made me think that just being thankful for our Creator is a good thing too.

I – I am thankful for the internet. It allows us all to stay connected, know what is going on in the world and spread positivity… when we choose to do so.

V – I am thankful for vacation days. I am blessed that my job gives me plenty and that I could take an extra day to get ready for the madness that is Thanksgiving dinner at my house!

I – I am thankful for my intelligence. It’s not a brag, I know that I am an intelligent person. God gave it to me and I am grateful for it.

N – I am thankful for our nation. For the first time in several years I have hope for our nation. The wrongs that have been committed can be righted, if we hold those elected to the expectations that we have in them.

G – I am thankful for grace. Grace is defined as generosity of spirit, a capacity to tolerate, accommodate, or forgive people. The world needs a lot more grace.

Ok, back to work for me! I have pies to bake. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
