CONSERVATIVES, TIME TO SIT BACK–and Enjoy the Headlines

If you hadn’t noticed, the GOP won yesterday.  Actually, the voters spanked the Dems so badly they aren’t exactly sure what happened, they just know it hurt.  So I thought a quick review of some of the best headlines of the morning would be a fun way to start this new, let’s-finally-take-our-country-back, era.

A quick review of my favorite right leaning to right wing news sites had these headlines:

The Blaze:

“Republicans Seize the U.S. Senate” Yes, yes they did… and not just by the six necessary.  No, we went one more to seven seats.

“In Major Upset, GOP Businessman Elected Governor of Illinois: ‘There’s No Way You Can’t Call it a Blow to President Obama’”  Yeah, that had to hurt.  Way to go Illinois!  Too bad you couldn’t have come to your senses before electing Obama in any race.

“Conservative Candidate Mia Love Just Made History in Utah”  Mia is a dyed in the wool conservative, but her claim to fame now is that she is the first black Republican woman elected in Utah.

CNS News:

“Republicans gain at least 7 Senate seats; at least 12 in House; sweep governors’ races, including Md., Mass., Ill.”  Of course, let’s not forget how Texans told Wendy Davis, affectionately nicknamed “Abortion Barbie” to take her abortion-loving, disabled-people-baiting, self away.  Resoundingly.

And can I just gush a minute about the MARYLAND governor’s race?  My home state, where I live and work, finally got its collective head out of its collective butt and elected Larry Hogan over O’Malleyite Anthony Brown by a huge nine percentage points.  In a state so blue we have to put up with the likes of Elijah Cummings, Barbara Mikulski, Ben Cardin and Martin O’Malley, nine points is HUGE!  We’re talking figurative landslide here folks!

“Family Gap: Democrats Lose Big Among Married Voters With Kids”  Families support conservatism by a 58% to 40% margin this election. Mostly because they realized that their collective paychecks are pathetic under tax-and -spend Dems, their “free” healthcare is so expensive they have the “choice” to pay their mortgage or their premiums, and worry about the IRS taking everything they own because they can’t pay both.

Newsmax:

“Republicans Take Senate as GOP Wave Sweeps Nation”  Ride the wave baby!

Townhall:

“RED TSUMANI: GOP Gains Across the Board in Historic Sweep”

The Washington Times:

“Landslide! Republicans capture Senate and prized governorships”

Now, let’s enjoy some not so right leaning sites, shall we?  Surprisingly, most were, if not gracious, at least admitted the thrashing they received.

CNN:

“THUMPING WIN”

Huffington Post:

“OUCH” – and to truly appreciate that headline, the “O” is the Obama logo!

Washington Post:

“A REPUBLICAN WAVE: GOP dominates midterms, takes control of Senate”

New York Times:

“G.O.P. TAKES CONTROL OF SENATE: Rides Wave of Anger to Gain Majority for First Time in 8 Years”  Yes, people are angry.  Americans are sick of where Obama, et al, have been taking us and want a serious CHANGE!

Baltimore Sun:

“Hogan Defeats Brown”  Ok, its kind of a big deal here, seriously.  And can I point out that Hogan is also pro-life and didn’t back down from it during the campaign?  Oh, and is committed to bringing businesses back to Maryland after O’Malley chased them out and said “good riddance.” Time for jobs to come back with businesses and those 40+ taxes O’Malley passed to leave.

The one outlet that was not a surprise in headline?  You guessed it, MSNBC.  “GRIDLOCK GROWS: The GOP victory is likely to create even more obstacles”  Yep, for Obama and his leftist agenda.  Unfortunately for him, the American voters resoundingly said “NO” to his agenda.

Oh, and we’re not buying that the GOP were the obstructionists.  I seem to recall something about Harry Reid sitting on something like 360 bills passed by the House.  He refused to even look at them, let alone introduce them in the Senate.  It’s not like it was his JOB or anything… oh, wait…

So what does this all tell us?  Obama’s change hurt American’s enough that they finally said ENOUGH!  Those who think they could keep pushing an agenda that infringes on our rights, takes away our freedoms and is in contradiction to the interests of Americans were told in no uncertain terms yesterday that, we, the citizens, are wresting control back.  We said no to their bad ideas and yes to fixing it.

So, enjoy the headlines, revel in the wins.  Remember, those ousted, but still in office until January, are like tenants who know the eviction is coming and are mad about it.  Don’t let them do more damage on the way out.  Come January it’s time to roll up our sleeves and get to work. We spoke, now hold the feet of those we elected to the fire and let’s get our nation back on track!
