BONO: ‘Bike Crash Means I May Never Play Guitar Again’

The Edge replied, ‘I never knew you could play the guitar.’

U2 frontman Bono has revealed he may never be able to play guitar again after a cycling accident in New York. In a 6,000-word message on the band’s websiteposted late Thursday, the Irish star said: “Recovery has been more difficult than I thought… As I write this, it is not clear that I will ever play guitar again.” In keeping with the often tongue-in-cheek tone of the note, he added: “The band have reminded me that neither they nor Western civilization are depending on this.”
