MORE THAN SPEECHES NEEDED: Opposing Anti-Semitism

There is a Jewish custom that when someone dies you place a stone on their grave. By doing so you are symbolically adding to the gravestone, building up the monument that honors the departed. Flowers die. Stones remain unchanged.

Last week was the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz; freed by the Red Army there are very few survivors left, this may be their last anniversary.

I sat down to watch Schindler’s List remembering it to be a good movie and an honest representation of what happened. At the end we see survivors and survivor’s families placing stones on Oskar Schindler’s grave. A man with a horrible personal life, too much money and a will to survive himself. Oskar Schindler was given the title Righteous Person by the Israeli government for risking his life to save Jews from the gas chambers. So because of this Steven Spielberg was chosen to deliver a speech to the 300 or so survivors of the Holocaust.

Spielberg warned that anti-Semitism is on the rise in Europe, such hollow words. I just want to know Steven what gave it away?? The attack in France? The fact that educated women in Muslim countries are systematically being murdered? Maybe it’s Israel’s being hit by rocket fire every single day? Oh, I know, it’s that we’re now finding out that Muslims have been kidnapping men, women and children right off the streets, torturing them and extracting their organs while they’re still alive?

Does this sound familiar to you? I believe it’s what the Nazis did to many of the 6 million men, women and children in the camps. Unfortunately your speech never mentioned who was at the top of the anti-Semitic list, who the new Nazis are.

You can make a speech in Poland stating the obvious to people who survived the worst at the hands of some of the worst then go back to your glamorous, comfortable Hollywood life feeling you’ve done something noble. Hypocrite! Where’s your movie about who is at the heart of this anti-Semitism? When will you and your ilk admit who it is that worked with the Nazis and continue their work to this day? Who was it that Goebbels admired most?

When will you stop giving huge amounts of money to a party that perpetuates this horror? The party that welcomes Islam right into our lives, unconcerned for our safety. And can you explain how your guy Obama decided to forgo the anniversary commemoration and fly to Saudi Arabia instead. What, is one Muslim life equal to 6 million Jews? Well, at least now we know his tolerance ratio.

Right here in America the Presbyterian Church is working with an Arab Palestinian group to remove all references of Israel in the Bible. Removing the Jewishness of Jesus, something clearly recorded in the books of Matthew and Luke. He is now being referred to as a Palestinian-Arab. Some Episcopalian, Methodist, and Lutheran churches are doing the same.

Right now we have the the new Nazis working in our own government in the form of the Muslim brotherhood, influencing our elected officials, no priest or rabbi allowed I’m afraid.
And right in your own backyard, right in southern California, several Jewish families, children and the elderly were harassed, threatened and nearly run down by a group of Latinos. Others are driving around neighborhoods looking for “f-ing Jews!”

In England, where more than half of the Jews living no longer feel safe, the BBC asked isn’t it about time we got over The Holocaust? They tweeted that it’s about time to lay The Holocaust to rest.

This would not only be another slap in the face for Israel and Jews, but a huge blow to mankind itself. Over 1.5 million children and babies were murdered in the camps, 1.2 million of them Jewish. Children who first witnessed the murder of their parents, relatives and friends. Dead are future doctors, philosophers, chemists, perhaps a cure for cancer or a Prince of Peace, we’ll never know.

This will be the last year Auschwitz will be a memorial, it is now going to be transformed into an educational museum.

So where’s the movie Mr. Spielberg? Wouldn’t the truth be the better honor? We need a mensch Mr. Spielberg, not another speech.

Emily Borenstein said, “To forget you is to let you die twice.”

To let The Holocaust die is to guarantee a future one…
