HOLLYWOOD WOULDN’T ALLOW IT: No Way American Sniper Could Have Won ‘Best Picture’

If you routinely listen to the news and media personalities, you will quickly discover that they believe the Academy Awards are one of the most important things that will happen in this country on a yearly basis, in the lives of everyday Americans.

They are, of course, stupid…

And arrogant.

The Academy Awards really don’t really matter that much to anybody outside of Hollywood or the media. Come to think of it, the awards really don’t matter that much to anybody who has a job, a life, or a double-digit IQ.

The Academy Awards are the time when people who falsely believe they are smarter than the rest of us have the chance to tell us the films they think we should truly enjoy.

In addition, the Academy Awards also gives them the chance to tell us that the films we already enjoyed are somehow inferior to what they have selected.

But no matter how the Academy voted, no matter what you hear, and no matter what anybody tells you: The best film of this year was American Sniper.

American Sniper wasn’t the best picture because it appeared to be rather conservative in its political viewpoint. It wasn’t the best picture because it presented a favorable image of those who serve in our military and the friends and family who love them.

And American Sniper wasn’t the best picture because it presented a positive view of those who fight to protect our country against evil, Islamic butchers.

These things are certainly all true, and they are all good reasons to enjoy the film, but none of them are important enough to simply merit the best picture award.

There is really only one reason why the film should have won the Oscar.

When I went with my nephew to see the film, American Sniper, an entire room full of people left the theater without making a sound.

They moved outside the theater, through the doors, and to their cars in utter silence, a condition that I later learned was repeated in hundreds and thousands of theaters all across this country.

The film made no effort to glorify war. It was thoughtful and reverent. It stirred the emotions; it made people think.

Unlike the disgusting pile of cow droppings which these dolts in Hollywood chose for best picture, American Sniper wasn’t merely a shallow and meaningless form of entertainment, that nobody really wanted to watch.

American Sniper touched people.

And that is the ONLY reason it should have received the Oscar.

If you know anything about Hollywood and the media, then you are foolish if you believed American Sniper would EVER win an Oscar for best picture, best director, and best actor.

And from the first minute I saw American Sniper, I knew Hollywood would never allow this great film to win any significant awards.

Hollywood would NEVER allow that result to happen!

But the one thing the film actually did is to praise and glorify those brave and selfless individuals who willingly offer their lives in the service of our country and the preservation of our freedom.

And that is precisely the reason Hollywood hates it.

Hollywood hates America.

Hollywood despises the military. They mock at the qualities of courage and character. They ridicule sacrifice. And they hate the things about which you care most deeply about.

But there are still men and women in this country like the late, Chris Kyle, individuals who risk their lives every day in the service of this country, who make it possible for Hollywood to keep giving us films that nobody wants to watch, but that everybody in Hollywood wants to reward.
