USING THE STATS TO UPHOLD THE LIES: Finger Pointing with the Middle Finger
Several Liberal friends had to send me the image at the link below:
I tried to dive deep on sources and methods for that montage of statistics. From what I could find, the sources and collection methodologies are hidden in vitriol and Liberal “I-told-you-so” finger pointing. Those Liberal friends ridiculed me for refusing the conclusions that seemingly spring from that montage of stats. I told them they were not yet old enough to get beyond young, dumb, and stupid. We laughed (because I smiled) but I could tell they were pissed. It’s that millennial assumption that old farts are old, cranky, and obsolete.
The problem for them is that they knew I had architected, designed, and implemented their high speed communications backbones, networks, enclaves, cryptography, virtualized their data centers, and have five published science fiction books under my belt. I asked my “youngdum a**hole warriors” if they wanted my detailed analysis or to continue in their ignorance. I was glad they acted interested, pretended to listen respectfully, and did not take turns beating my ass.

The charts for “Baptists”, “Protestants”, and “Slavery” are intended to set the tone. From Texas east to the Atlantic coast and from the Gulf coast north to Virginia, we essentially see a depiction of where the southern Bible thumpers, who descended from the slave states, live. Add to that every possible pathology from teen pregnancy to poverty to venereal disease.
Observation 1: This laydown should be called into question for its corrosive depiction. I have seen corrosive. That would be Iraqi Jihadists in 2005 and 2006 dragging families into streets to make them watch the execution of fathers and oldest sons for collaborating with allied forces. Project that to ISIS pieces of crap doing the same but raping their way through women and girls. In the corrosive depiction of the south, the collectors of this data widened a demonization gap across which people will kill each other for the language.
Suspect this level of corrosiveness when it enters the national dialog because it springs from ignorance, feeds political vitriol aimed at millennials, and WILL put Millennials on both sides of the gap shooting at each other. I looked at the young men and women around the table and said, “Old farts like me hate crap like this because you kids will be the pop up targets on a two way firing range that could have been prevented with a little civility.”
Analysis: Rank and file liberals will hold the montage in the air and scream it like a Biblical truth while southerners and Evangelicals roll their eyes and click the channel changer to watch something else. Maybe reruns of the Beverly Hillbillies. Or Rambo.
Observation 2: Thirty years ago, trips to my in-laws’ house in Richardson, Texas, north of Dallas, crossed vast empty spaces of grass. Today, it is houses, skyscrapers, IT companies, and construction that straddles north Texas. The rumor is that when the Sun runs out of hydrogen in a billion years, the Texas Highway Department will have to complete all its projects in the dark.
Looking at this phenomenon big picture, people are moving out of high tax jobless states that have destroyed their industries with liberal policies to southern low tax, high job, and high production states. This level of population relocation accentuates pathologies in a sort of Oil Field or Gold Discovery boom.
Add in the fact the millennials are the least morally trained generation in American history and you have people moving to the south and southwest, bringing their atheist liberal pathologies, and generally acting out northern liberal’s snooty and elitist depictions of southerners.
Analysis: The population in the south is young, energetic, employed, making kids, discovering faith, and a lot warmer than you old liberal northern bastards digging out of your back-to-back blizzards. (It is 70 degrees and sunny in northern Texas as I write this).
Observation 3: I enjoyed my tongue-in-cheek eye poking up to now but there is a darker view, here.

The Christian Left is indeed twisting the Gospel. Think Mega Church corporations more about bringing people in with entertaining Saturdays and Sundays to increase revenue/collection plate experiences. If your Mega Church uses the language of business and accepts modern sensuality more than the language of the Gospel, you and your family are in the middle of Laodicea. Like Lot, Abraham’s Nephew, you are pointing your tents at Sodom and Gomorrah.
Dudes and Dudettes, when Jesus turned over the tables of the Market place in the temple, (read mega-church) he used a bullwhip to beat those a**holes out of the Temple who were robbing the poor. That was more about overturning the market place of ideas than stopping the money changing that was robbing folks blind. The church in America needs some serious table overturning in its market place of ideas.
The montage of stats point out challenges to the faithful but the critical place where the “rubber” meets the road is in the bedroom. Too many supposed Christians refuse to let the God of creation and his Son of salvation speak into our sexual lives. Throughout scripture, God informs us of behavior that acts out His divine metaphor of Christ and his Bride. Those who confess Christ, but act differently in their bedrooms, are sexual atheists and are doomed to be another statistic on the stat montage.
This most critical aspect of life is where “We the People” must act out our belief and seek revival. Otherwise, as God steps away from our bodies, our hearts, and finally our minds, we will see Millennials and all generations living, including old farts like me, dialoguing across our gaps with weapons and weapons systems, using each other as pop up targets.
