FIRST AMENDMENT VS. SHARIA, ROUND TWO: Cartoon Contests Speak Volumes Over Freedom Of Speech
There is a danger afoot trying to embed its tentacles into our cities and neighborhoods– and it goes by the name of radical Islam. Someone forgot to give them the memo that their agenda isn’t welcome on our soil. Patriots far and wide are ready to cut it off at the head without mercy or tolerance.
Freedom of speech is alive and well here in the United States, and law abiding citizens are exercising that right. There will be an anti-Islam rally that will be held this Friday in Phoenix outside of the Islamic Community Center.
Much like the one that was held in Texas, there will be a Muhammad cartoon drawing contest. The freedom of speech rally brought out two Muslim extremists from Phoenix, who opened fire on the event but were both killed before they could murder innocent Americans. One of the men was being watched by the FBI since 2006 for his ties to a man convicted on terror-related charges.
The organizer of the Phoenix event, Jon Reitzheimer, said he had to “do something” and “We’re just out utilizing our First Amendment”. On his Facebook page he is using to organize the event, he warns attendees to come packing heat because of a “much anticipated attack”.
Phoenix police issued this statement saying:
Dealing with this type of activity is a challenge that is facing law enforcement across the country. Dealing with groups of protesters and opposing views is not the difficult part. Our goal and the real challenge are trying to anticipate unlawful activities that might occur in conjunction with these events.
CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations), the Muslim Brotherhood front group, also issued a statement saying, “We thank law enforcement authorities for their protective effort to ensure the safety of the mosques congregation from hate-filled and armed protesters”.
CAIR may have it backwards as the police are there to protect innocent citizens right to free speech covered under their First Amendment rights. Unfortunately for Muslims, not being allowed to draw a cartoon of Muhammed doesn’t apply to people who aren’t part of their religion. They have zero right to tell an American citizen what they can and cannot do.
Some have criticized people like Pamela Geller for taking a stand against Islam here in America. Some have said she asked for trouble, but what she did was more important than most can imagine. She has taken a stand for freedom. Refusing to be a slave to the politically correct garbage that is force fed to “we the people” everyday. That somehow a citizen’s rights no longer matter and is replaced by complacency and political correctness.
Right now as your children sleep soundly in their beds, there are terror cells in your own neighborhood that are plotting jihad against your family. Radicals that will stop at nothing to create the caliphate. The brave patriots willing to take a stand for our freedoms are sending a powerful message to terrorists. We are Americans and we don’t run. We will fight and we will win. Strap that to your chest and chew on it for a while.
