Anthony Weiner was a Democratic member of the House of Representatives forced to resign after a sex scandal. He was caught texting pictures of his Little Anthony, when one of the women he sent the texts to, decided to make it public. Anthony’s wife was pregnant at the time, but I’m sure Mr. Weiner never gave her a thought and never gave a thought to who might see those texts or how old they might be. Old Carlos Danger as he called himself was told to lie low for a while then come back to politics. No-one ever mentioned he might need a mental health evaluation.
Just as an aside, Mr. Weiner is lashing out at the scrutiny surrounding Hillary’s emails. I guess his judgement is still welcome?
Then there was former Governor Eliot Spitzer. Remember him and his escort problem? She got a job as a New York Post columnist and he went on to become a political commentator and host of Viewpoint with Eliot Spitzer. He and his escort rewarded for their behavior. He recently ran for Comptroller of New York, at least the troll part fits.
According to Bernie Sanders women are asking for it. After all we spend our time daydreaming of being gang raped. Wait whose fantasy is that?? He now says the paper he wrote many years ago was just tongue in cheek; really? The horrible thing is that women will still vote for him, it’s the ideals that are important not the man’s moral character. Now that was tongue in cheek!
And then of course there’s sex scandals with the Clintons — sounds like a talk show. Just last year Bill was named in a scandal involving underage girls and Jeffrey Epstein, who served a 13 month jail term for soliciting a minor. So far no proof of Bill being directly involved but it does have his stink all over it. And good for him still being called that “loveable rogue” by the media.
And let’s not forget Hillary. Yoko Ono just came out and said she had sex with Hillary in the 80’s I believe. Its bad enough John Lennon slept with her and I may never sleep again. But that’s not the only lesbian rumor floating around.
Which leads me to my point. Josh Duggar a member of the huge Duggar clan just came out and confessed to molesting 5 girls including his younger sisters. Josh Duggar was 14 when he committed these acts and, make no mistake, Josh Duggar was a child himself and cannot and should not be judged by adult standards.
Josh Duggar confessed what he had done to his dad and was sent away for help to a Christian therapy program. What Josh did was wrong plain and simple. But he has confessed and stepped down from his position at the FRC and will now face whatever he has coming to him. Which is more than I can say for some public figures.
The disgusting thing is the behavior by TLC towards the Duggars and some in the Christian community. TLC decided to pull the program after the show has made them millions of dollars and it may or may not come back at all. Some of the crew who worked with the Duggars are like family to them and they are very close.
What TLC has done is to victimize the girls again, as have the sponsors who have canceled their advertising because of the scandalous revelations by Josh Duggar.
It makes me wonder how many of these sponsors contributed to some of the aforementioned politicians and their political campaigns?
Rick Santorum called the Duggars scandal disgraceful. He has distanced himself from the family even though the Duggars worked so hard for his campaign the last election and they had become close friends. Kiss my vote goodbye, Rick.
Mike Huckabee on the other hand did the right and decent thing. He affirmed his support for the family. Huckabee wrote: What Josh did was “inexcusable” but not “unforgivable.” “Good people make mistakes and do regrettable and even disgusting things.” Yet Mike Huckabee did the right and Christian thing, he forgave. He forgave and never abandoned his friends in their hour of need.
Michael Reagan in his column stated that child molesting isn’t a mistake — it is when you’re a child Michael.
Someday soon people are going to figure out that the right gets extra scrutiny and criticism compared to the left for a reason. It’s sometimes deserved but mostly not. It’s because the right plays by a different set of rules or used to. Fairness, honesty, decency and the belief in God were hallmarks of that belief system. Compared to the left where all levels of deviance and corruption are tolerated and even welcomed. And by the way, no-one ever has to confess anything if they don’t want to.
Personally I don’t mind if the right is held to a higher standard than the left. I mean how could I? It would mean our morals and values are identical and believe me they’re not. We should welcome the scrutiny, it keeps us on our toes. Most on the right can stand up to close examination. The left is always given a pass because they can’t.
Josh Duggar, his victims and his family may or may not ever recover from this but they are going to come through with the help of God and each other.
