ANOTHER UNCONSTITUTIONAL OBAMA MOVE: No Gun Rights for Millions of Social Security Recipients

There is a reason why Second Amendment supporters should always be wary of the Obama administration, especially when it appears they have gone silent. Because while America may have felt that Obama had thrown his hands up and abandoned his six year passion to deprive Americans of their gun rights, he is back at it again. According to Fox News, the White House is moving to keep Americans who collect Social Security benefits from owning guns if it is determined they are unable to manage their own affairs.

The key phrase is, “if it is determined”. That is important because if officials from the Obama administration have their way, it will be liberal in how the operative phrase is defined. This gun snatch by Obama will be the largest in the history of the nation and will impact millions of legal gun owners.

The ruse that is being floated by Obama officials is that those Americans who are on disability will have to comply with laws that prevent drug addicts, felons and illegal immigrants who enter the nation illegally from being sold a gun. In effect, an American who has some challenges in perhaps balancing his or her financial affairs could be stripped of their constitutional rights.

This move by Obama should have been expected ever since his 2008 presidential run statement where he sneered at Americans in the heartland of the country that hold onto their guns and Bibles. This is a president who has nothing but derision for legal gun ownership and would love nothing more than to utilize the practices that Communist China and Nazi Germany used in stripping guns from its citizens.

It is important to note that the Social Security Administration has never had to bend to the will of an administration that now has the Department of Veterans Affairs using a background check system. The bottom line is that nearly 4.2 million beneficiaries who have their affairs managed by representative payees could be affected if this policy was implemented.

Americans need only have to look back to Obama’s desperation move to strip Americans of their gun rights following the tragic 2012 Hook Elementary School massacre. The congress and especially many in his own party soundly rejected his unconstitutional power grab. Now the president wants to do another end run around the U.S. Constitution by increasing the number of people who cannot own guns strictly based upon their ability to take care of their finances. This is a move which Americans must rise up and protest against for several reasons.

First and foremost, Obama is not just interested in depriving one class or group of Americans of their legitimate right to own a gun. His goal and the goal of gun control advocates are to strip all Americans in all groups or classifications from gun ownership.
