The beauty of the Liberty we enjoy, established and passed on by our Founders, is dissent. The ability to freely disagree without the fear of losing freedom, livelihood or life itself. The challenge to that independence has never been greater than it is today…
Two of the biggest poseurs of peace, tolerance and inclusion are working NOT together, but with similar goals…side-by-side. The Left carries the water for Islam as it imposes Sharia (centimeter-by-centimeter), while Islam is the silent partner with the Left as it crushes its opponents with its fascist fist.
BOTH of these entities have an intrinsic hatred for dissent.
Islam, which has zero tolerance for non-submission to Muhammed’s dictates, answers dissent with violence and death as the ultimate punishment for nonconformity. As they have exhibited for the past 1,400 years, everywhere they invade…destruction, forced conversion, enslavement, torture and barbaric murder is their answer to opposition. This was clearly displayed by the two Muslim Jihadists (now dead) who tried to enforce Sharia Law in Garland, TX by hoping to kill as many infidels as possible…because Islam doesn’t allow dissent.
Islam’s water boys on the Left have not gone as far as ending the lives of dissenters (at least, to date), but their rhetoric drips with visceral hatred. And they, with glee, work diligently to eviscerate the livelihood and free speech rights of those who will not conform to their ideology. Their actions…as seen in the case of an Oregon family (Sweet Cakes by Melissa)…are hateful, intolerant and seeking to punish their opposition. Choking every last drop of liberty’s breath from the dissenters’ lives.
To these entities’ dismay (and I include five SCOTUS justices in that group), the First Amendment is alive and well, and was established precisely for the protection of those who disagree with government or the popular majority.
We could deal with this as one of our Founders, Samuel Adams, once suggested: “If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”
That would be the gracious response. But some will not relent their bullying until it hits them where it hurts…so their tool of choice (the courts) can also be used on them: Suing them six ways to Sunday, so they will appreciate the value of dissent!
Whatever way is chosen…it’s up to those who are FREE, to REMAIN free. And as it was for our ancestors, so it will be for us: We must fight those with a god-complex, who long to control us…until they see the truth.
Edmund Burke once said, “All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.”
Our dissent is a priceless gift…will we surrender it without a fight?
