A man who entered the country illegally beat a 64-year-old California woman to death with a hammer after raping her inside her own home, police said — the latest incident to fuel a mounting fury against illegal immigration.
Marilyn Pharis died eight days after suffering serious head injuries in the brutal attack, Santa Maria police said.
Her death comes one month after a San Francisco woman was gunned down on a popular pier. Another undocumented immigrant is charged in the July death of Kate Steinle.
Victor Aureliano Martinez — a 29-year-old undocumented immigrant who was arrested six times in 15 months — faces first-degree murder, mayhem, torture and rape charges in Pharis’ death, KEYT reported. Just two weeks before the fatal attack, he was arrested for possessing meth, police said.

First, consider that there is a move out in California to outlaw the use of the word “alien” when it comes to addressing illegal immigrants. We already know that the liberal progressive left wants to eradicate the use of the word “illegal” and as you saw in the quoted portion above, the word “undocumented” is the PC preferred reference. How is it that we show more indignation over references and names for those who have entered our country “illegally” rather than eradicating the issue of sanctuary cities and upholding the rule of law and respecting legal immigration and immigrants? How can it be that Martinez was arrested SIX times in less than 18 months and still be out free to roam our streets? Someone failed Ms. Pharis — as well as Kate Steinle. And now we shall have the debate about whether or not the death penalty is appropriate? (Allen B West)
