‘JUST THE FACTS, MA’AM!’ Planned Parenthood Can’t Stand Facing Them

Dragnet was a very popular police show that ran from 1951 to 1959. Sgt. Joe Friday and his partners were only interested in uncovering the truth in any situation. The quote most associated with Sgt. Friday was, “Just the facts, ma’am,” when someone was running on and on about irrelevant information.

This phrase is useful in many situations today. In a time where everything and everyone has a pet cause and an opinion about how to run other people’s lives, it would be a relief if the situation just presented the facts. If the people who are so opinionated and easily offended actually knew the facts, they may be forced to change their behavior in light of the true data, instead of relying on simple hearsay or popular views

Planned Parenthood has been in the news spotlight for quite a while. In 2012, Planned Parenthood and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure had a public spar over donations and grants.

The protests from both sides of the abortion issue have been going on for a long time. Everyone has an opinion, whether pro or con about the subject. Planned Parenthood is a place where a woman can obtain an abortion, some of which are later in term.

The last few weeks, many Conservatives and Conservative Republicans have stood up to be counted against the Federal government’s funding of Planned Parenthood in light of the recent release of the videos depicting the conversation about ghoulishly harvesting the organs of babies aborted in their clinics. From the preliminary data presented, those discussing the sale of these organs were doing so for their own financial gain.

Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, had such a protest going on in the front yard of the Governor’s mansion this past Saturday. Jindal is one of the Conservative Republicans who has called for the Federal funding of Planned Parenthood to cease.

Jindal kindly provided the protesters with some informational videos of the carnage and sale of infant parts on the front lawn of the mansion.

Many protesters were unable to linger and view the videos for themselves. Those upset by the images left the premises to avoid the sight.

Abortion has always been controversial. Ohio is now considering a law against the abortion of a fetus known to have Down’s syndrome, if that is the only reason to terminate the pregnancy.

Abortion has to be a personal decision. Many from each side are trying to make it a public matter.

However, in the case of the videos of the actions of Planned Parenthood, it is hard to discount “just the facts”, as Saturday’s Louisiana protesters found out in a most graphic manner.
