ALL LIVES MATTER: And It Starts In the Womb – Forward to #BlackLivesMatter

It could be useful at this point in our history to discuss the value of life.  Our creed in America is best expressed by Jefferson in the Declaration:  “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” 

We have a right to life.  Life is sacred. God created us.  We are sacred beings created in His image.  If I prevent another from having life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness, I violate that person’s sacred rights.

The moment we depart from these truths, life is diminished, its value reduced, our sacredness tarnished.  And so, random acts of violence, murder and mayhem become commonplace.

So long as life is sacred and each person’s right to life is cherished, the bonds of civilized society are strengthened, the duties of citizenship are honored, and liberty and security are established, so that all may pursue happiness.

Let the racist insist he is superior, that people are unequal, and the bonds are broken.  Let the Communist exclude God and dictate his vision of equality and you have the gulag and the firing squad. Let the atheist and the jihadist create theocracies and you have genocide.

Do Black Lives Really Matter?  No more, and no less than the lives of any other race, but no life matters when the Giver of Life no longer matters.   So long as God no longer matters, all things of value are swept away as well: love, justice, honesty, virtue, fair play, courtesy, service, self-sacrifice, duty, respect, peace, prosperity, blessing, order.

Secular humanists and secular progressives have preached a godless religion for 100 years, insisting we ignore the God of love, and replace Him with our own “wisdom”.  History and current events inform us this is the height of folly.  Does life really matter?  Does it have value?  Is it worth defending and protecting?  Not if you are a fetus.  When we turn on the most innocent and defenseless and kill them in the millions to satisfy our comfort and convenience, we have truly gone over to the most meaningless place, and the place of greatest darkness.

Is it then any wonder our children kill without conscience, our streets flow with the blood of innocents, and masses of people grind their teeth with selfish demands, pushing the mayhem to the breaking point?

If God does not matter, then nothing matters.
