The Anonymous group is trying to impede the terror group’s social media activism by infiltrating its propaganda feeds and misdirecting followers to Astley’s hit song Never Gonna Give You Up.
Linking people to the catchy hit is an age-old internet prank which helped revive Astley’s career.
Tricksters post a link to the video in a post under the pretence it is something useful or interesting, baffling and frustrating those who click it in good faith.
Anonymous, which declared a new anti-ISIS campaign in the wake of the Paris terror attacks, voted that the so-called Rickroll would be their newest tool.
