The more observant among you may have noticed something about Barack Obama. No, not that he is a thin-skinned, narcissistic, unaccomplished, radical leftist empty suit. Seeing that reality doesn’t exactly require penetrating powers of observation. It’s like seeing the svelte members of a female, bikini-clad beach volleyball team from a distance, and realizing, even without being able to see the players’ faces, but only their shapely bodies, that neither Michelle Obama or Hillary Clinton is in the lineup.
No, I refer to his TelePrompTer readings, which invariably take place in front of audiences of backward children at colleges or universities, or even in some cases, high schools. Do you think that’s a coincidence? These audiences are filled with people ignorant about even the most basic information about public policy issues. Of course, what they lack in knowledge and information, they make up for in youthful exuberance. Ignorance plus emotions on overdrive, for a demagogue, what’s not to like?
As I have previously noted here at Clash Daily, many millennials are stunningly ignorant.
The areas where they fall short, I am sad to say, are knowledge, facts, basic information, historical context, and critical thinking. I have listened to their vacuous blathering about foolishness. I have watched their cringe-inducing, attention-getting behavior. Worst of all, I have heard them pontificate about serious public policy issues. From what I hear, many of these people can name more Kardashians than Supreme Court justices, and they think Benghazi is a brand of designer jeans or a hip new restaurant.
I know that I’m not exactly giving you a news flash here. Intelligent adults realize that young people today have a lot to learn. Young people throughout human history have always had a lot to learn. There is no substitute for life experience. That’s just common sense, right? Except today, apparently, as the current madness on display at the University of Missouri demonstrates.
Consider the case of this fine institutional of “higher learning,” or as I would call it, a leftist indoctrination center. There, under the tutelage of anti-American, race-obsessed, leftist goofballs also known as “professors,” a passel of silly, little poseurs drunk with self-righteousness and a sense victimhood, and convinced of their oppression by the “institutional racism” of the university, launched a pointless protest against alleged racism and “white privilege.” No doubt their baby boomer teachers felt a warm nostalgic glow, feeling like they were back in the early 1970’s, reliving their own youthful demands and rage against imperialistic, racist Amerika. The students, whose parents are paying thousands so that they can attend college and learn something useful, celebrated their victory when they were able to get University President Tim Wolfe and Chancellor R. Bowen Loftin to step down with their tails between their legs.
Are you kidding me? At what point did we decide that wet-behind-the-ears little punks, playing Dress-up Victim, had the right to run anything? Children, you are STUDENTS, remember? By definition, that means you are there to learn all the things that you don’t know, which by the way, are A LOT of things. In fairness, perhaps we can’t fault the kids. If the grown ups are going to surrender authority to a bunch of clueless infants, what can anyone expect?
Watching these spineless administrators cave to a mob of whiny, witless squirts, egged on by arrested development cases who are supposed to be adults, is beyond depressing. If former President Wolfe had any self-respect and at least half a brain, he would have said, “Resign my ass!” then told these churlish brats to quit complaining about non-existent “racism” and get their sorry rear ends back to class where they belong. It’s long past time for the grown-ups in this society to grab the reins, man up and quit capitulating to foolish children’s tantrums.
From the time of Karl Marx, the Left has focused on converting the young. Let me quote the book that is no doubt on Barack Obama’s night stand, The Communist Manifesto: “In bourgeois society, therefore, the past dominates the present; in Communist society, the present dominates the past.”
