“We’re engaging in terrorism against the Muslim community,” activist honored by White House says.
Activist Linda Sarsour appeared on MSNBC Saturday (Dec 12) night and said “we’re engaging in terrorism against the Muslim community”. She went on to say that one-third of Muslims were African American. The “we” being America as a whole of course. The African American part was thrown in to play the race card.
If anyone at this point has any doubts about the kinds of things talked about behind closed doors in the White House, chances are it sounds a lot like the stuff coming out of Linda Sarsour’s mouth.
The White House named her a “Champion of Change”. From whitehouse.gov:
Linda Sarsour is a working woman, community activist, and mother of three. Ambitious, outspoken and independent, Linda shatters stereotypes of Muslim women while also treasuring her religious and ethnic heritage. Currently she is the Advocacy and Civic Engagement Coordinator for the National Network for Arab American Communities (NNAAC), a network of 22 Arab American organizations in 11 states including the District of Columbia, nationwide where she conducts trainings nationally on the importance of civic engagement in the Arab and Muslim American community. Locally she serves as the Director of the Arab American Association of New York, a social service agency serving the Arab community in NYC. Linda’s strengths are in the areas of community development, youth empowerment, community organizing, civic engagement and immigrants’ rights advocacy.
It shouldn’t be a surprise that both the White House and MSNBC (when they brought Sarsour on as a guest Saturday night) left a lot of things out. Things like:
— Her role in forcing New York City to end it’s mosque surveillance program, and to close city offices on Islamic holidays. (Aren’t liberals all about separating religion and state?).
— Her leadership of the Muslim Democratic Club of New York. (No way a political insider spot like this gave her an inside track to be named a change champion, right?).
— Her involvement in the Black Lives Matter movement.
Yes, these are what a Champion of Change is made of these days -– at least in the opinion of the current Occupant of the White House.
Her role in Black Lives Matter was detailed in an August 7, 2015 article The New York Times ran called -– and I’m not making this up – “Brooklyn Homegirl in a Hijab”. It’s a doozy. In the article, writer Alan Feuer seems obsessed with how cool and hip Linda Sarsour is. She’s always running late he says, and she uses Uber. She says “swag instead of charisma”, she actually says “swag”. How cool is that? Activism wasn’t what she chose to do, it was thrust upon her after 9/11 and all the racism she saw directed at Muslims in America. And in a move that would have seen a conservative media type called a racist Alan Feuer proudly explains that Linda Sarsour “has perfected her delivery of the head swaying “oh no you dih’nt” and can pronounce the word “latino like well, a latino”. The coolest thing of all? She’s part of Black Lives Matter.
Sarsour was involved in the Eric Garner protests, including the ones that shut down parts of New York City. During those protests, a lot of loons came out of the woodwork and into the streets. There were the people that openly chanted death wishes for police officers. There were Marxist internationalists. Somewhere in this miasma of liberals gone wild was Linda Sarsour -– presumably she’s identifiable as the one with the “perfected head swaying”. So how does a Palestinian-American Muslim get involved with Black Lives Matter?
Liberals call it “intersectionality”. Basically it means that, because she’s got a gripe and someone else from another grievance group has a gripe, they can share their gripes. According to Feuer, that makes Sarsour a go to spokesperson to speak on behalf of women, other minorities, gays, etc. One stop shopping. Grievance R Us. And it’s how she gets to be a Black Lives Matter member.
“Brooklyn homegirl in a hijab” shows how out of touch the left is when it comes to the terror threat. ISIS is regularly bringing jihad to the west and they can’t get over the head swaying Palestinian who’s running late going from a gay rights rally to a Black Lives Matter meeting? MSNBC finds more substance in this woman’s rhetoric than they do the existential threat we face? Race, race, climate change, Donald Trump, race. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
At the head of it all is the White House. They are all in with Linda Sarsour. She after all, is one of them no matter how hard they might try and distance themselves from her.
