An Open Letter to Atheists Who Don’t Criticize Islam
To the atheists among us…
Yes, the United States of America is a free country, and the Constitution grants us freedom to practice our religion…or, in your case, freedom not to have a religion or to believe in God…freedom to be an atheist. I don’t agree with you but I defend your right to BE an atheist. This is why I don’t understand why you are constantly trying to constrain people from practicing their religion. You are imposing your beliefs on others, which is what you accuse others of doing. You are a bunch of hypocrites. Who are you to dictate to the armed forces what is appropriate religiously for them? Every time you see a cross or a star of David pop up, you threaten legal action if they’re not removed. How dare you tell, we the people, when and where to show our religious symbols. Read the Constitution, and go ahead and practice your atheism, but stop trying to erase religion from this country.
The USA was founded on Judeo-Christian principles and it has worked beautifully for over 200 years during the good, and some very bad, times. Go ahead and live your life without religion, that is your prerogative. However, stay out of the religious life of the Americans who want to practice their religion in peace without the constant harassment from you people. If you don’t like a certain phrase or saying, don’t use it. If you don’t like houses of worship, don’t go to them. It you don’t like to look at religious symbols, wherever they may be, don’t look at them. But, do not deny others the pleasure of involvement in their religions. This country has enough problems, so having to deal with your pettiness and hypocrisy is not only unfortunate, but a huge waste of time, effort, and money. The difference between us, as I see it this…if I don’t like vanilla ice cream, I don’t buy it. If I don’t like a convertible automobile, I won’t buy one. If you don’t like vanilla ice cream you think NO ONE should have it, and the same goes for convertible automobiles. You don’t seem to understand that everyone has a right to practice their religion, or not to.
I have noticed that you never criticize Islam. That is supposedly a religion, but you Godless hypocrites refrain from showing any disdain for it as you do with Christianity and Judaism. You also never threaten to sue when Muslims inject their values and laws into our society. So, the sign of the crescent, Arabic writings, and the call to prayer does not bother you. Or are you just afraid of being harmed, or killed by the followers of Islam, because it is their way when they are criticized. You know that most Christians or Jews would never stoop to such violence, so we are fair prey. You are truly cowardly and nasty creatures.
Remember, we do not need to be told how and what to do when it comes to religious matters. Why don’t you get interested in something constructive for a change, because you are really becoming bothersome. Get a life and stay out of the religious life of Americans.
