A Dire Warning for Republicans Who Won’t Deliver the Change They Promised

From the movie The Rock:

On the deteriorating negotiations:

General Kramer  “This is going nowhere, Frank.”

General Hummel  “Well, then let me tell you what is. 15 VX gas rockets into the heart of San Francisco. You’ve got 17 hours to deliver the money, or be prepared to reap the whirlwind, gentlemen.”

The Republican Party continues to prove how unserious they are to the destruction of our nation as it’s happening in real time, right in front of our eyes. One example comes from one of my US Senators from Colorado, Cory Gardner. Per my column on February 6, I wrote to Gardner and demanded he put a stop to Sergeant’s Martland’s disastrous discharge proceedings. Amid the pixel waste in Gardner’s reply, he said, “If legislation comes across my desk, I will [blah blah blah].”

If legislation comes across your desk, Senator? I hear more principled answers from my pre-teen daughter? You mean to tell me you couldn’t filibuster an unrelated piece of legislation? As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, you couldn’t call a hearing to expose this slaughter of justice and all the pusillanimous players involved?A local radio host described Gardner as easy to like, hard to admire. I’m not even sure of the former. Prepare to be primaried, Senator.

Next up on the list of Republican “Meh” surrounds our own United States Department of Justice.

If these allegations are true (and based on the history of the Voting Rights Section during this administration, they may well be), then the Eric Holder [and now Loretta Lynch]–run Justice Department was actively engaged in blocking an independent bipartisan federal agency from allowing a state to verify that only citizens are registering to vote.

You have several states seeking to prevent voter fraud by setting up multiple methods for verifying identity, and the Justice Department either actively suing these states, or not defending their attempts to ensure election integrity. What do we hear from ANY Republican? Not a damn word. My fellow Americans, when non-citizens vote in a nation, there is no nation.

Finally, we have simpleton and current US Senator from South Carolina Lindsey Graham joking about the murder of Senator Cruz. As Nancy Pelosi looks on admirably through her Tupperware face, Graham said

A good Republican would defend Ted Cruz after tonight. That ain’t [sic] happening.

[laughter]

If you killed Ted Cruz on the floor of the Senate and the trial was in the Senate, nobody could convict you.
…
I was asked the hardest question of my political life. Do you agree with Donald Trump that Ted Cruz is the biggest liar in politics? Too close to call.

I know exactly when Ted’s going to drop out of the race. March 12th. That’s Canadian week at Myrtle Beach, when all of our Canadian friends get 10 percent off

These remarks were made in a crowd full of bipartisan Establishmentarians, clapping and laughing like seals awaiting the next mackerel toss. As of this writing, not one politician has protested Graham’s despicable words. How many examples of our desperate plight do we need?

To all Republicans holding office at local, state, and federal levels, you have precious little time to deliver on your campaign promise to shrink the size and power of government, and return freedom to America. If you don’t, be prepared to reap the whirlwind.
