TWO Reasons Why America’s Freedom Is Currently Under ATTACK

It appears that there is a malfunction in current society’s manners and civility that allows for violence to those who question the status quo, or have an opinion that is different from the main. Freedom is only applicable if one agrees with crowd, or the current ruling group.

At a cookout this weekend, a Senate candidate for West Virginia was senselessly attacked from behind and beaten very badly by a person/neighbor he had known almost all of his life.http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/west-virginia-state-senate-candidate-brutally-beaten-at-cookout/ar-BBsO8Mz?li=BBnbfcL

This is not unlike the violence that caused presidential candidate Trump to have to slip in through the side door of his own campaign rally.

What is wrong with people that they believe they are right in harming others and the personal property of others if in disagreement with their views?

The practice of debate and agreeing to disagree is a lost art to today’s society, and it is not limited to Millennials, as the media likes to call a certain age group.

The man who allegedly attacked the Senate candidate was not in this age group.

It would probably be safe to say that this type of behavior can be attributed to two factors in today’s society.

The breakdown of the home.

The statistics of fatherless homes and the destruction this causes are well proven.

85% of children that exhibit behavioral disorders come from fatherless homes.

70% of the youth living in state operated juvenile detention centers come from fatherless homes.

63% of suicides in young people come from fatherless homes. The articles and research papers to support these numbers are easy to prove.

Not to lay everything on the father, as it takes two to make a child. With mothers working outside of the home, things are not the same as they once were.

The reason that it takes a man and a woman to make a child is that the said child needs the particular talents and qualities of each individual sex. By receiving the influence of both the mother and the father, the child is better adjusted and hopefully prepared for their life outside the home. The child will have a better chance of receiving examples of healthy relationships, not only with their peers, but in their intimate relationships as well.

The relaxing (to the point of nonexistence) of societal disapproval.

In generations past, society’s disapproval held great sway in the local community. A man who would not support his family would be ostracized and possibly face secret retribution from his in-laws and neighbors.

Pregnancy out of wedlock was a serious offense. It was not accepted and, unfortunately and unfairly, the blame rested solely on the woman. She was placed outside of polite society and shunned.

The community had a greater influence on what was good, and what types of behavior would or would not be tolerated.

Today’s families are fragmented and in many cases nonexistent.

What is the remedy for such out of control behavior in society?

Perhaps, stiffer penalties for those who destroy, and or steal property, with a “three times you are out” clause. If you are brought up on charges for such crimes, the last sentence should put you out of society, for obviously, you are a liability, rather than an asset, and there is no real hope of change.

Violent crimes should have the same system. After three times of committing the same type of offenses, you are put out of society.

With the violence escalating the way it has in the last two years, farfetched movies like Escape from New York, or Escape from LA, are not so unrealistic after all.

Until Society, i. e. the regular citizens, lose their complacency and demand that things change, nothing will improve.

“Never underestimate the power of a small group of committed people to change the world. In fact, it is the only thing that ever has.” Margaret Mead

However, the small group bent on destruction, can also accomplish their goals.

“Mere passive citizenship is not enough. Men must be aggressive for what is right if government is to be saved from men who are aggressive for what is wrong.” Robert (Fighting Bob) Lafollette

This is the remedy for curing ills in America today. It is hopefully an agenda everyone can embrace.
