U.S. College Offers A Course Called ‘Stop White People’ – We Think That’s BS

Ah, higher education! Where discourse and diversity of opinion are encouraged. Wait, make that ‘was’ encouraged.

After all, it’s 2K16, and this State University is making sure that EVERYONE is on the same page.

The Residential Assistants are getting some special training at the State University of New York.

The State University of New York (SUNY) at Binghamton is now offering a course called “#StopWhitePeople2K16” as part of routine training for residential assistants.

The university’s residential assistant training schedule lists “#StopWhitePeople2016” on its roster, with the mission of giving RA’s an “overview of disabilities in Higher Education.”

The presenters of the course, Ciaran Slattery, Nicholas Pulakos, and Urenna Nwogwugwu, are all RAs at the state-funded college, which describes itself as New York’s highest-ranking public college. They state their purpose is to “help others take the next step in understanding diversity, privilege, and the society we function within,” presumably the “white” society they plan to “stop” at the event.

RA’s are often seen as mentors and function as counsellors to their peers.

Is THIS what we want our college kids learning?

How does an inflammatory-named course help in the understanding of diversity and the society we live in? Is THIS an ‘honest, open dialogue’ that we always hear the Left screech about, or does it fuel the fire of the ‘us’ and ‘them’ mentality the BLM movement often complains about?
