GIVE US BARRABAS! Renouncing Christianity, Embracing Islam

This is the continuation (i.e. part 2) of last time’s offering. Originally I had entitled it “Renouncing Christianity?”…however my editor decided to use the Barabbas headline instead. Hey, he’s the editor. He makes the big bucks. He has the corner office, the babe secretary and the best parking space so I acquiesce to his authority. Nonetheless, I think you’ll see why “Renouncing Christianity?” is also appropriate.

So, after that somewhat convoluted introduction, here’s a very quick recap of Part 1.

American Christians are being fed a load of BS when told to accept Islam because “…there are moderate Muslims, you know.” Here’s why that’s wrong…dangerously wrong.

1.) Taqiyya — the Islamic edict that promotes lying (in word and deed) to non-Muslims if it furthers Islam.
2.) “Allah’s apostle said ‘The hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say O Moslem! there is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him’.”
(Bukhari 52:177, from The Hadith)

There are other Quranic verses such as Tabor 7:97 (Hadith), Quran 9:29 and Quran 9:30 that specifically mention subjugation and even death for Jews and Christians. Overall, the Quran has 109 verses stating that non-Moslems should be put to death. However, the point is that Islam is dedicated to the destruction of Israel in particular. Jews are mentioned as being worthy of death more than Christians are.

An American Christian should not accept the idea that there is such a thing a “moderate” Islam. In August of 2007, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said this in regard to the use of the term “moderate Islam” by Western leaders and media: “The descriptions are very ugly. It is offensive and an insult to our religion. There is no moderate or immoderate Islam. Islam is Islam and that’s it.”

Following this “logic”, there is therefore no watered down or “softer side” of Islam. There is no escaping the fact that Islam not only wants to take over the entire world, but Jews in particular have been singled out for total destruction. Iran has even stated that publicly.

What does Jehovah God of Israel have to say about those who would go against Israel? I’m just going to run some scriptures here to point out God’s attitude towards those who would harm His chosen. (Scripture quotes are from the New International Version.)

Gen. 12:1,3 — The Lord had said to Abram, leave your country, your people, and your father’s household and go the land I will show you…I will bless those who bless you, and whomever curses you, I will curse.

Ps. 122:6 — Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, may those who love you be secure.

Isa. 60:12 — For the nation or kingdom that will not serve you will perish, it will be utterly destroyed.

Isa. 62:1 — For Zion’s sake, I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet, till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch.

Joel 3:2 — I will gather all nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will enter into judgment against them concerning my inheritance, my people Israel, for they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land.

One further Old Testament scripture regarding Israel (that’s very long) is found in Zachariah 12:1-14. Jerusalem is described as an “immovable rock”. There is a long description of the last days and how God deals with those who turn against Israel and the city of Jerusalem. There is a reference to Christ found in verse 10: “The will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a first born son.”

Into the New Testament, we find these references regarding the relationship between Christians and Israel.

Eph 3:6 — This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise of Jesus Christ.

I Pt. 3:12 — For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.

For further references, get a good concordance and run the scriptures using the words “bless”, “curse”, “Israel”, and “Jerusalem”.

God regards the nation of Israel so highly that he calls it His inheritance. Through Christ, Christians are one with Israel. How we choose to accept that reality will dictate if we share in His blessing…or His curse.

Why would any Christian with this knowledge choose to show even tacit (look this word up…) support for Islam? Why would any Christian show support for a so-called religion that is killing our brothers and sisters through burning and beheadings? Why would any Christian support a religion that reduces women and young girls to mere sexual slaves, who can be beaten, even killed, at will? Why would any Christian wish to show any support for a religion that wants to remove free will from the individual?

If you don’t like what I’ve shown scripturally, take it up with the author. God has shown how important the nation of Israel is in his overall plan for mankind. Because of this, I just have to ask…why would any Christian risk renouncing Christianity just to show current fashionable political correctness towards Islam? Towards those who want to kill us?

I don’t feel I’ve gone off the rails by saying support for Islam is risking the renunciation of your faith. Simply ask yourself…why would you even want to?
