Former Playboy model Pamela Anderson has teamed up with a Rabbi to co-write a column blaming pornography addiction for the self-sabotaging sexting of Anthony Weiner.
The column written by the actress and Rabbi-counselor Shmuley Boteach for the Wall Street Journal on Thursday, warns against the ‘addictive dangers of pornography,’ using the former congressman’s separation from wife and Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin as a prime example of the effect porn consumption can have on people ‘close to the addict.’
The couple split after the New York Post published a story about Weiner’s latest scandal that involved him sending a lewd selfie of his erect manhood while lying in bed next to his four-year-old son to a woman.
Anderson, 49, and Boteach argue that Weiner epitomizes a certain type of American man that’s successful – one that’s willing to self-destruct over a few cheap thrills due to being deeply unfilled.
Boteach and Anderson, who has appeared on more covers for Playboy magazine than any other model, decry what they described as pornography’s ‘corrosive effects’ on a ‘man’s soul.’
As a result, they claim porn has a negative impact on the institution of the family and on fatherhood.‘This is a public hazard of unprecedented seriousness given how freely available, anonymously accessible and easily disseminated pornography is nowadays,’ the column entitled ‘Take the Pledge: No More Indulging Porn’ reads.
‘How many families will suffer? How many marriages will implode? How many talented men will scrap their most important relationships and careers for a brief onanistic thrill?’
The duo describes the spread of Internet porn an ‘experiment in mass debasement.’
‘If anyone still had doubts about the addictive dangers of pornography, Anthony Weiner should have put paid to them with his repeated, self-sabotaging sexting,’ Anderson and Boteach wrote.
