Poor Obama. It’s not (ever) HIS fault … really!
His policies, when they fail, are Dubya’s fault. Always. It doesn’t matter if Dems had the presidency, the House and the Senate. It’s still Dubya’s fault. And those damned Republicans.
But how did Dubya manage to absolutely DESTROY the Democrats at the polls in the last few elections? Every election they lose more ground. Whose fault is that?
Not HIS, obviously. NOTHING is EVER his fault. How could we blame him? He was golfing at the time? No… he gave it some serious thought, and gave his answer at a serious interview with Rolling Stone.. (you remember, they’re the ones who lost in court after they ran the fake college gang-rape story). [But, ‘beware fake news’, right?]
He is… yes, you guessed it, blaming fake news. And also Fox News.
In this election, [white blue collar workers] turned out in huge numbers for Trump. And I think that part of it has to do with our inability, our failure, to reach those voters effectively. Part of it is Fox News in every bar and restaurant in big chunks of the country, but part of it is also Democrats not working at a grassroots level, being in there, showing up, making arguments. That part of the critique of the Democratic Party is accurate. We spend a lot of time focused on international policy and national policy and less time being on the ground. Failure to reach those voters effectively, Mr. President?
You reached into their wallets often enough. You reached into their personal lives often enough, including full-time jobs whose hours were by the employer to avoid being hammered by Obamacare.
You called them bitter clingers, Mr. President, and made it pretty clear that your fundamental transformation of America did not have room for any of THEIR values.
You actually blame Fox News?
You blame FOX when CNN had to publicly apologize for false news stories that happen to promote your message?
You blame FOX when Donna Brazile was both working for CNN AND helping rig the Primaries for Hillary?
You blame FOX when ‘impartial’ newscasters were openly weeping when their darling Hillary was going down to defeat?
There’s a reason ‘flyover country’ and every bar and restaurant had it tuned to that channel and not the ones you like better. If the public in ever bar and restaurant wanted a DIFFERENT channel, it would have been offered to them.
In your very complaint, you are blaming the free will and choice of the public. It’s not a concept you are a big fan of, we know.
This is a chicken-egg problem for you, Mr. President.
The fact that we were watching Fox News should have been an early indicator that everything you stand for philosophically (you were the most leftward-leaning Senator long before you moved to Washington) is repulsive to us.
You COULD have tried being conciliatory. Possibly try to be as open to ‘working with’ Republicans as you are to ‘working with’… for example… Iran.
But No. You are an idealogue. You BURN bridges, you don’t build them. And now? When Hillary and all of her down-ballot supporters NEEDED those bridges? They were gone.
Let’s say this in terms even you can understand, Mr. Failed President.
The smoking wreck of a party that was, until you took charge, the DNC? Yeah. YOU BUILT THAT.
Don’t worry though. Wipe that tear from your eye.
