ELECTION NIGHT: DEALING A DOSE of Humility to the Mainstream Media

This conservative in torturing herself by watching election returns. And while this article won’t hit the internet until after our president has been decided, barring some 2000 hanging chad flashback, I have learned some interesting things about the media in the 2 ½ hours that I’ve been watching…not that I didn’t already know. I have chosen to watch FoxNews given that they are typically more conservative than the other major news networks.

With that being said, it is telling about our national media that none of the FoxNews reporters thought Mr. Trump even had a chance to win this election. They are shocked that, currently at least, he has somewhat of a chance; and his chances keep improving the longer I watch. Everyone is chasing their tails trying to figure out what is going on and how they could have missed it so badly.

Therefore, it is interesting to me that even the most traditionally conservative major news network is fumbling for words as to what is going on given that they were HUGE Trump supporters during the primaries. FoxNews did nothing but prop him up during the months of grueling primary debates. FoxNews did nothing but praise his performance when he was running against the, what was it again, 15 other candidates, any one of whom would have been a grossly better candidate that Mr. Trump. Then after Trump became the Republican nominee, they flip-flopped and began to slice and dice him left and right.

My conclusion? This is not surprising. The mainstream media, whoever they may be, are liberal to their core and focused on establishing the liberal, progressive agenda. I think it is time we dump them and find an alternative that will report “just the facts” instead of promoting candidates. We deserve better.
