A group called #DisruptJ20 met recently in Washington DC to lay out their anti-inauguration protests. Just like all the other hard left hashtag-driven movements, their overarching goal is to “shutdown” the inauguration. Shutting things down is profound.
Tantrums
As with all tantrums, #DisruptJ20 is devoid of thought. So much so they are openly contradictory in their professed goals. A spokesperson for the group said:
“we’re exercising our freedom of speech and really want to set a tone for the next few years”
“…do everything we can to try and stop people from being able to access the inauguration”
All in the name of “a massive body of people who are very concerned about the dangerous direction Donald Trump is taking our country in”.
The fact that #DisruptJ20 can say they support freedom of speech while planning to physically prevent others from “being able to access the inauguration” and not recognize the dangers inherent in such behavior is undeniable proof that #DisruptJ20 are idiots.
Not Just Any Idiots
Not just idiots like the kind you find glued to couches soaking up the flat-earther mindset presented on The View, MSNBC, or those formulaic public service announcements where Hollywood elites lecture Americans about Trump. #DisruptJ20 are useful idiots. They and a basket full of similarly polarizing activist groups are merely tentacles emanating from a core cabal of global, hard left elites. Their business model is pretty simple:
– People like George Soros and Tom Steyer write the checks.
– The checks pay for career community organizers who invent “movements” like ACORN, International A.N.S.W.E.R., Code Pink, NARAL, the Freedom from Religion Foundation, Occupy, Black Lives Matter, F*** Yo Flag, and #DisruptJ20.
– These movements protest and riot and the media tailors their coverage so that the narrative is always “well we can’t endorse rioting” but “we do need to have a conversation about” whatever the movements say their grievance is all about. (I’ll bet you a ham sandwich there are already items written at the Washington Post and CNN about the riots of January 20, 2017).
– The morally bankrupt Democratic Party bitterly clings to all of this in hopes that a) their checks will keep on coming in, b) activists will still support them and not the Green Party on election day, and c) the media will turn to them as “the conscience of America” when the topic turns to race, class, or gender.
Kind of Like Hitler
Really, it’s kind of like how Hitler emerged in Germany. Oh sure, the left has peppered us with admonitions that Trump’s election was akin to that of the führer – funny they wouldn’t have minded calling an Obama third term (whether actual or performed by Hillary Clinton) “dear leader”. But it isn’t Donald Trump that’s telling us that for our own good and safety, and in order to protect our first amendment rights, we must “do everything we can to try and stop people from being able to access the inauguration”. That isn’t just Orwellian. That isn’t just something Baghdad Bob could have said. That my friends is one step short of jack-booted Kristallnacht fascism.
In fact, if January 20th ends as a night of broken glass, for all intents and purposes it should go down in the history books as an ideological Kristallnacht imposed upon us by the left with profound implications for the next four years.
