“Socialism makes things hard which makes people hard from which emerge hardened leaders that get things done” – paraphrased Facebook post made by a socialist I know.
For the past few years I, and a great big chunk of commentators right of center, have wondered precisely what the left wanted. Not that we never knew they were hard core fascist-Marxists at heart. Rather, we wondered to what extreme they were willing to take us in order to see their idea of the perfect state take hold.
Few believed it when we heard man on the street interviews or we had conversations in which some leftist lectured us about the perfection of Scandinavian socialism and their promises that they only wanted us to be more like Denmark. (Scandinavian socialism, with or without Denmark, is a myth by the way).
So kudos to my friend for posting what many of us always knew was deep down in the heart of every bleeding heart from Caribou, Maine to San Ysidro, California.
“C’mon Mr. Allen you don’t have any socialist friends on Facebook you are lying,” said the liberal reading this article upset that the curtain’s been pulled back and I’m playing the Oz card. Yes, I do have socialist friends on Facebook.
No, I will not a) take you to my Facebook page or b) give you the young man’s name. What I will say is that he and I worked together for a number of years earlier in this decade. I will further say that he had “issues” in the workplace and after a number of incidents, including a shocking spate of sexual harassment directed against a female co-worker, he was let go. Last I heard he had moved back in with his parents. It’s my hope he’s getting his life together, but I definitely never want to see his version of utopia given life in these United States. Let’s unpack his statement:
— “Socialism makes things hard” – an eyes-wide-open admission that, unlike capitalism, socialist agendas do in fact make life harder for the vast majority of people.
— “…which makes people hard” – isn’t this peculiar? Why would anyone want to see the state systematically abuse people to the point they become “hard”?
— “from which emerge hardened leaders” – like Stalin.
— “that get things done” – have a conversation with any liberal. A real conversation. They will tell you they didn’t like Obama. Or Hillary. They will admit that Bernie Sanders or Jill Stein were closer to what they were looking for but that neither was willing to go far enough. Why? The left craves a strongman or woman that will seize power, throw the Constitution aside, and ram rod policies through.
It reminds me of a conversation I overheard before election day November 2016. A liberal woman explained to her male colleagues why Hillary Clinton was the best choice for President. “…because we need a hard @ss b@tch that will get things done”.
That’s right. For the American left, the babbleheads in Congress, whether beaten by Democrats in Selma 50+ years ago or not, are stage props. So are all the prospective Democratic candidates for the presidency in 2020. They want someone to take power and steamroll their agenda over everyone.
And as for those of us who reside right of the ideological center, they plan to silence us. Another one of my left-leaning friends (this one is a perpetual college student) just before the Presidential election insisted that if Trump won, the whole country would burn to the ground and then conservatives would have to “finally shut the f*** up and get out of the way”.
Look at where we are today. Chances are, as you read this there is, or has been, a “protest”, within the past 24 hours somewhere in America. Odds are that the protest turned into a riot. Without a doubt the instigators of the protest and the riot it turned into were all liberals. These are the early sprouts of that domestic national security force Barack Obama once promised to establish – he neglected to explain that they would be street mobs paid for by foreign money laundered through Organizing for America and a bunch of other leftist activist groups and orchestrated from his retirement home in Washington, DC.
