Remember When An OATH Actually MEANT Something?

Military:

I, _____ (SSAN), having been appointed an officer in the Army of the United States, as indicated above in the grade of _____ do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter; So help me God.

(DA Form 71, 1 August 1959, for officers.)

The Oath of Office for Civil Service Employees

Federal employees take the same oath of office as Congress, by which they swear to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.

I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

5 U.S.C. §3331

The Constitution not only establishes our system of government, it actually defines the work role for Federal employees – “to establish Justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty.”

Once upon a time, a young enlisted man took an oath to defend his country against all enemies foreign and domestic! This enlisted man graduated flight school and retook the oath as a Warrant Officer. Upon discharge, after a year off and a year of college, this young man retook the oath as a Federal Employee (as did his brother).

My brother once said (he lent me money to buy a gun at a gun club) after I apologized for forgetting the money to pay him back the next time I saw him, (semi quote – as memory can fail you), “forget about it! Your word is better than most people’s contracts’’. It gave me a sense of pride that one of the people that knew me best put great faith in my word. How much greater must I honor my “oath”. As I’ve aged “So help me God” has become ever more meaningful to my life.

I feel a need to warn my country that my oath is still valid to me, and that I honor it more now than when I made the oath. Why “warn”? I warn because if one part of the government attempts to overthrow another part of the government contrary to the constitution, then they will become my enemy.

I am old (short of 70), SOB (short of breath due to COPD), fat and ugly, on oxygen but still proud. I will defend the Constitution. If I have to join a civil war to “restore” the Constitution, I will. Liberal. socialist, progressives, democrats, rhino’s, and republicans beware. Do not violate the principles of our Constitution. I pray in Christ’s name that I won’t be forced to take action because you have chosen to ignore our Constitution.

Politicians ignore our Constitution while they pass unconstitutional law. The Judicial branch ignores the Constitution and legislates from the bench. Executive orders have codified stealing (the taking of private property without remuneration – upon a declaration of “National Emergency”), they may take your supplies and distribute them to others. Executive orders have also reinstituted slavery in that in a national emergency the government can order you to work without remuneration (which I equate to slavery – forcing you to work without pay).

I suspect that there is only a 40-60 percent chance that my wife (who is older than I am) will live to see the coming economic and social collapse of our country, but we are armed for it.

Lord, Grant President Trump the wisdom, fortitude and above all your blessings to guide us through the perilous times that are coming. In Christ’s name I pray that you protect and guide the Christians who cling to our Bibles and guns, and lead us through to better times. Amen

Mike Martin thanks you for the opportunity to express “different points of views”, and if you were to ask his family they would probably tell you that he’s as different as they come….
