Good people are moved to give generously in times of crisis.
Corrupt people are moved to exploit them.
‘Never let a crisis go to waste,’ indeed.
It looks like EVERYBODY is trying to cash in on the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey. This will really make your blood boil.
How low can a person sink?
This is a nasty case of putting a political agenda ahead of saving lives.
Most people are putting their money toward actual flood relief.
Red Cross is a popular choice.
Some prefer Samaritan’s Purse or their favorite religious-based charity.
If you have a particular niche concern — like the aid and rescue of stranded animals, there is even a way to help with that.
What do these all have in common? They are saving lives, or helping those who have been displaced due to sudden, involuntary homelessness.
But that’s not stopping other groups from riding the coat-tails of the storm.
Groups that find themselves on the same rung of the moral ladder as people who would pick through the bodies on a battlefield for coins and gold.
Or… the American equivalent… the abortion movement.

Because THAT is the most important thing we need to provide money for when people have been deprived of their homes and livelihoods.
Not scrabling to make sure the kids don’t miss a school year.
Not providing cribs for infants who can’t use cots.
Not services or medical aids for the infirm or disabled.
Their priority is … ‘let’s rip up some babies!’ Classy.
