Under Trump, Both Christmas And Jesus Are Welcome In The Public Square

Finally, in America after being banished by the Obama administration, it can be said aloud, that Jesus is the reason for the Christmas season. Millions of Americans can now say Merry Christmas without fear of being stifled and shamed by the political correctness police. When President Trump announced at the national tree lighting, “As president of the United States it’s my tremendous honor to finally wish America and the world a very merry Christmas,” the Obama eight-year long national nightmare was over.

Jesus is the reason for the Christmas season and Donald Trump became the vehicle that freed Christians from Obama’s and liberals’ anti “Merry Christmas” political correctness prison. Each child and each parent and each family can now avoid the hardened eyes of political correctness-minded liberals and their governmental cohorts.

Remember when the previous president landed in the Oval Office in January 2009? He instructed his administration to remove even the very mention of Jesus Christ and all of the Christian wording and events from government documents, buildings, even military colleges. Jesus Christ and the celebration of his birth, his life and his death and resurrection were driven into the American wilderness.

But it is fair to say that in 2016, Christianity and the verbal celebrations that Christians and especially children in school plays and recitals all across the nation had held dear for a generation had a warrior of the faith in Donald Trump.

Early in 2016, then candidate Donald Trump reminded the Liberty University audience where he was speaking that, if elected, department stores would once again feature signs reading “Merry Christmas” rather than “Happy Holidays.” While mainstream media and liberals scoffed, millions of Christians were uplifted by the idea that if this man became president, he would honor and proudly proclaim Jesus Christ as the reason for the Christmas season. He said then, “For Christians, this is a holy season, a celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Now, fast forward to November 30th, this year. Now, as President Trump, the man who spoke those words “Celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ”, declared them again.

President Obama exterminated all vestiges of the Obama’s iron lock of tyranny which marginalized the celebration of Jesus Christ and the phrase Merry Christmas. That has begun to change in a variety of important and distinctive ways. Over the past several months, many Americans have witnessed the reappearance of nativity scenes in the public square and Christmas songs being sung in schools, at public events and at offices without being shamed by the political correctness police.

How wonderfully comforting it is as Christians to publicly acknowledge in schools, the work place, at events and even in casual conversations “Merry Christmas”. The President explained at the tree lighting event the importance of the birth of Jesus Christ and his life. He said, “There is hardly an aspect of our life today that his life has not touched – art, music, culture, law, and our respect for the sacred dignity of every person everywhere in the world.”

Yes, the president is absolutely right. Do not be afraid or hesitant to share Christ’s story and the meaning of his birth to all of humanity. This president has it right when he explained that the “Christmas story began 2,000 years ago with a mother, a father, their baby son, and the most extraordinary gift of all – the gift of God’s love for all of humanity.”

Judi Lake, American Christian Civil Rights Movement Executive Director, agrees with President Trump and supports his restoral of Jesus Christ and the saying of Merry Christmas to the public square. “When the Obama administration mocked and demeaned people of Christian faith, Donald Trump told us he would honor his pledge to defend and protect Christianity. He has done that. Now the long Obama and liberal siege against Christianity where Christians had been persecuted from the oval office to the town council may be finally over.” She added, “President Trump deserves all the credit. Merry Christmas!”

This Christmas season “Merry Christmas” is a wonderful gift that Americans can share over and over again with each other thanks to over sixty million Americans who elected this president in 2016. When President Trump proclaimed,” For Christians, this is a holy season, a celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” All Christians said “Amen”.

Christians are silent no longer. Merry Christmas!!
