A Presidential library just isn’t good enough for Obama. He’s planning an entire ‘Presidential Center’ with a whole host of big-budget features.
For the Obamas, it’s important that this ‘library’ reflect them and their values. The design seems to do just that. After all, milking the taxpayer seemed to be one of their top priorities.
Barry has described it as ‘more like a campus’ that he plans on using to ‘train young people in leadership’.
Well, that thought is the stuff of nightmares, isn’t it?
It’s a bizarre kind of legacy project that includes all sorts of things, but lacks books — you know, those paper things that libraries are filled with.
The Obama Foundation is taking an unconventional approach to the presidential center and library being planned in Chicago. It’s opting to host a digital archive of President Barack Obama’s records, but not keep his hard-copy manuscripts and letters and other documents onsite.
That means no thumbing through the ex-president’s correspondence on the health care fight or first drafts of his State of the Union addresses.
The decision has historians scratching their heads.
“All archivists are waiting to see how this will work, because we are all struggling with how to make things available digitally,” Peggy Glowacki, a manuscripts librarian at the Richard J. Daley Library at the University of Illinois at Chicago, told the Chicago Tribune.

Reports first surfaced last fall that the monument to the first black president’s legacy was taking on an activity-center vibe. There would be a museum – but also a basketball court, possibly a room for yoga classes, and a test kitchen to teach visitors “about the full production cycle of nutritious food.”
It’s a reference to former first lady Michelle Obama’s campaign for healthy eating and lifestyles.
It also will have a garden to continue Michelle’s war on junk food.
It’s the ‘test kitchen’ that’s raising a lot of ire on the left.
But Chicago Tribune columnist Ron Grossman trashed the “test kitchen” idea as not worthy of the ideals and history for which the presidential center is supposed to stand.
“Mr. President, I’ve got to tell you: The renderings for your museum are ‘little plans,’ more likely to congeal than stir blood,” he wrote…
…“What brought me up short was a space in the adjoining Forum building labeled ‘test kitchen.’ Presumably that reflects Michelle Obama’s war on junk food. The museum’s champions similarly suggest it could host yoga classes,” he wrote. “President Obama, is that how you want to be remembered? As the healthy-eating and meditation-advocating president?”

Grossman says that he doesn’t want that as the legacy that’s going to be passed on to future generations. Instead, he advocates a focus on the ‘revolution’ that Barry’s election reflected — that ‘post-racial era’ ushered in by the stamping out decades of racism and exclusion of blacks in America.
Well, Barry didn’t exactly usher that in, did he?
And he actually stoked racial tensions with his identity politics and constant talk of ‘systemic racism’ in police departments.
Perhaps the less said about Obama’s efforts to dismantle racism the better.
And if the artist rendering is any indication — it’s going to be one ugly monstrosity.

At first glance, that chunk out of the bottom of the main building looks to be an indicator of scale. But, no, it’s a ‘feature’. That area of the building is going to be glass because the shape of the thing wasn’t ghastly enough.
‘Sanctuary City’ Chicago has continued to suffer from the horrendous Democrat policies its been steeped in for decades and is now going to erect a monument to the least effective President Ever.
