Trump & Bannon: Here’s 6 Things You Need To Know Amidst All The Drama

Published on January 4, 2018

They are already treating him differently now that they think he’s joined the fight against Trump… but has he, really?

This is the kind of squabble the Left could only dream of… Open war between President Trump and Steve Bannon. (If indeed it IS open war. We’ll come back to that.)

You might ask what the heck is going on?

“The Book”

Trending: WATCH: Here’s Why You Should NEVER Fight While Holding Your BABY

Details from a tell-all book were ‘leaked’ to the press, and the political firestorm they’ve kicked off did exactly what their publicists would have hoped — got everyone talking about it.

Left-leaning Michael Wolff wrote a book with many explosive claims… including several allegedly said by Steve Bannon about President Trump and his family.

Throughout this story, it is worth keeping the following quote in mind (emphasis added):

“According to ABC News, it also says that the book “appears to cite no sources for many of its most damaging statements about Mr Trump” and that many claims are made without citing sources.” –Source: BBC

Not surprisingly, there is a ‘cease-and-desist’ order being filed by lawyers against Wolfe and the publisher, over violations of non-disclosure agreements.

What did Bannon allegedly say?

About that infamous meeting between Don Trump Jr where information damaging to Hillary was offered, but not provided, it is claimed he said the following:

“Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad s***, and I happen to think it’s all of that, you should have called the FBI immediately.”

He also may have said Don would ‘crack like an egg’ on TV.

The Trump Reply:

Trump gave a very strong, visceral 200-word Statement in reply, distancing himself from Bannon, using some scathing language, beginning by saying that when Bannon had been fired he lost not only his job, but his mind.

Media Rejoicing/Media Bias

The late-night spewed their usual ‘nuanced bile’.

Steve Cortes said it this way while on Fox “The Left-wing media I think right now is trying like crazy to suddenly believe Steve Bannon. Two days ago they thought he was a combination of Darth Vader and Goebbels. Now he is a ‘Truth Teller’ to them. So I think there’s a lot of duplicity to them.

In case you had forgotten the media’s opinion of Bannon from a year ago, when they were trying to cast Trump as Bannon’s puppet, here’s a satirical headline from the New Yorker, from Jan 3, 2018: Trump Angrily Throws Steve Bannon’s Signed Copy of “Mein Kampf” in Trash.

Remember? He was evil. Racist. Alt-Right. Machivallian. Practically Hitler.

But, like Steve Cortes said, look at the media’s reaction when they thought they had someone on their side… joining the anti-Trump resistance.

Suddenly he’s Moses coming down from Sinai with truth we must all hear.

Sorry, Media (D), you can’t have it both ways. Either he’s damnable damaged goods, or he’s not. Either you were lying then, or you are lying now. Either way… you have already proven you are liars.

The media are hoping to see a civil war or even a coup — but they want to see it in the GOP, rather than, say, Iran.

Plot Twist

Before DNC and their lapdog media start popping corks, there is more to this story than meets the eye.

Bannon on-air did not sound like the bitter vindictive man he was made to sound like in the excerpts from the book. (Remember that bit about so many quotes being ‘unattributed’? We’ve already seen a number of stories get spiked — not least of which was the infamous ‘dossier’ — because either they were from sources that lacked credibility (when they were even named at all) or they were just flat-out wrong.

Here he is on Breitbart News on Sirius, discussing the media firestorm partial transcript via Breitbart:

JUSTIN: First of all, I think [Donald Trump] made a huge mistake, Steve, bashing you like he did today on Twitter. That was devastating to me. I hope in the future you can forgive him for that when we come to 2020, because I’m sure he’s going to need your help.

BANNON: The President of the United States is a great man. You know I support him day in and day out, whether going through the country giving the Trump Miracle speech or on the show or on the website, so I don’t you have to worry about that. But I appreciate the kind words.

…BANNON: President Trump, with the whole swamp up there, the D.C. apparatus, the nullification project, everything going on; he is fighting every day. There’s no doubt in your mind, right? And maybe things get off track, or stuff gets said, and all this heated stuff, but however, this is a guy, you voted for him, you supported him, is there any doubt in your mind he’s been fighting for and working for you, the deplorables, the forgotten man and woman, the silent majority, every day he’s been there?

There are two possibilities — either:

BANNON is doing a massive Cover-Your-Ass backpedal here and trying to get back on the President’s good side.

BANNON never actually said the things in this book.

From the time Bannon left the White House, to now… Bannon has not been shy about slamming Trump’s opponents. But have you seen any other place where Bannon has specifically attacked Trump himself?

Even when he left the White House, — despite some rather colorful statements by rivals like ‘the Mooch’, both sides were gracious about it.

Does the alleged quote about Russian involvement, and Treason fit with Bannon’s tweet from as recently as December 20?

Does THIS honestly sound like a bitter opponent hellbent on derailing the TrumpTrain?

What about this?

He calls the story BS:

And his most recent tweet says a very similar statement of support to what he said on-air, reaffirming support, and calling Trump ‘a great man’.

The Washington Post gave us reason to give real consideration to the possibility that Bannon is telling the truth here.

Doubt’s about Wolff’s own credibility

The Washington Post’s Paul Farhi describes Wolff this way:
“…One thing Michael Wolff has never been described as is boring. A provacateur and media plemicist, Wolff has a penchant for stirring up an argument and pushing the facts as far as they’ll go, and sometimes further than they can tolerate, according to his critics. He has been accused of not just re-creating scenes in his books and columns, but of creating them wholesale”

These are the competing claims readers will need to evaluate for themselves in their own minds.

Whatever we are to make about the situation with Bannon, whether it’s legit or not, the Trump Train rolls ever onward. And as we so often say about the ‘fake news’ and their open biases, ‘Despite the negative press… covfefe.’
