OOPS! Comey Reveals An Important But Inadvertent Truth

In a recent interview, James Comey said something that should have made everyone pause and consider his statement.

Essentially, he said that no good investigator began an investigation unless that investigator knew how it was going to turn out.

Mueller? Mueller?

At first, Comey brought forth a knee-jerk reaction: was Comey unintentionally suggesting that Mueller wasn’t the tip-top super sleuth he’s supposed to be? The Mueller probe began as an investigation into allegations that Trump colluded (which isn’t a crime) with Russia to win the 2016 election.

As the allegation goes, Trump wanted to build a Trump Tower in Moscow but couldn’t get funding from US or European banks. Russian banks were the only financiers he could turn to and the price tag was that he work with Putin to become President of the United States. It makes no sense sure. Has anything uttered from left of center in years made sense? Nope. Anyway…

Now the Mueller probe appears adrift, somewhere between Stormy Daniels, Cohen, Sean Hannity, and whatever other tangents Mueller’s staff finds. The media scarcely mentions Russia anymore and probably will refrain for the duration of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Moscow – the media loves them some soccer.

Comey said no good investigator began an investigation without knowing the outcome in advance. Is Mueller a terrible investigator then if measured by the James Comey standard?

The answer is yes if anyone for a split-second thought Mueller was actually investigating Russian collusion or if that’s what his probe was all about. An investigatory team could work around the clock into the next century and find no evidence that the Trump campaign plotted with Vladimir Putin so the former could win the 2016 US Presidential election for the benefit of the latter.

Mueller’s investigation into Donald Trump instead is premised on something else Comey recently admitted. In an interview, Comey explained that as FBI Director he terminated FBI investigations into Hillary Clinton because he didn’t want to delegitimize her prospective Presidency. In other words, Comey swept those investigations under the rug for fear the specter of scandal would tarnish Hillary Clinton.

The Mueller probe though serves what purpose but to try and delegitimize Trump’s Presidency and tarnish the man.
