BREAKING! At Least 10 Dead After Gunman Opens Fire At Texas High School

And no, we won’t be blaming the ‘evil AR-15’ this time. He used something else.

Update: Shooter identified

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez told reporters the majority of the dead at Santa Fe High School were students.

The suspect is in custody and he is 17-year-old Dimitrios Pagourtzis, according to CBS News.
Governor Greg Abbott said the suspect used a shotgun and a .38 revolver that he appeared to have taken from his father, who legally owned the weapons.

On his hat was a heart pin like this:

Update: Death toll now stands at ten…

Update: Possible explosive devices found at the school and off-campus near the high school.

The public is being warned to be on the lookout for any suspicious items, don’t touch them, and call authorities immediately.

The shooting has been contained and the school has been evacuated. Possible explosive devices have also been found at the school and off campus, the school district said. Authorities are working to render the devices safe, the district said.

Here is the President’s message in response:

(end update)

He unloaded a shotgun into people in a school.

It started in an art class, of all places. First thing in the morning.

Two people are now in custody, and no motive is known. They are both considered minors, and perhaps students, but this is not yet confirmed.

One of those in custody is the suspect, and another is reportedly a person of interest.

The fire alarm was pulled — it is unclear at this point whether or not the attacker was the one to pull the alarm.

The shooter entered an art class around 7:30 in the morning and started shooting. Officials are reporting 8 fatalities thus far, and 3 are known to be in the hospital (two adults and a minor).

One LEO officer was ‘clipped’ but not seriously injured.

One student told Houston television station KTRK in a telephone interview that a gunman came into her first-period art class and started shooting. “We thought it was a fire drill at first but really, the teacher said, ‘Start running,”’ the student told the television station.

“We were in class, it was first period. The alarm started going off, everybody went outside, all the teachers were like ‘get this way, get this way, come over here’. Next thing you know we hear the booms and everybody starts running as fast as they can,” Dakota Shrader, a 10th grader, told reporters. A friend was shot in the leg, she said, “and the next thing you know all the art [class] windows are getting shot, shattered.”

The men and women in law enforcement that serve and protect us are commendable, but the response time means that they don’t get there when the bullets are flying.

Are you willing to wait 20 minutes for the police to show up?

It’s an issue that needs to be discussed within our churches and addressed by our church leaders.

We need some righteous badassery in the church to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our brothers and sisters in Christ from the preventable evil in this world.

We need to Obey Jesus.

Including what he said in Luke 22:36.

He [Jesus] said to them, “But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one.
