The author of those beloved books that have spawned a hugely successful television series — is now ‘controversial’.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Laura Ingalls Wilder is a ‘racist’… supposedly.
Why wouldn’t it be? Tucker Carlson put together an insane list of 100 ‘racist’ things that liberals have actually raged about.
You can add a beloved children’s book author to that list.
A division of the American Library Association voted unanimously Saturday to strip Laura Ingalls Wilder’s name from a major children’s literature award over concerns about how the author referred to Native Americans and blacks.
The Association for Library Service to Children says the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award will now be known as the Children’s Literature Legacy Award.
Wilder, who wrote the Little House book series, was the first recipient of the award, which was established in 1954 and intended to honor books published in the U.S. that have had a big impact on children’s literature.
The Little House series was based on Wilder’s own life and told the story of the Ingalls family as it moved around the Great Plains in the 19th century. While many of the Little House books became widely read, critics said her work included many stereotypical and reductive depictions of Native Americans and people of color.

Forget anything about the historical context, or the fact that it detailed her own life.
Forget the fact that it was written at a point in history where there had actually been physical confrontations between white settlers and ‘Indians’ as they were then known.
After all, the Battle Of Little Bighorn happened during the author’s lifetime and would have shaped her view of the world.
But we would only expect literate people to take historical context into account. As to whether those judges of this award actually read books, we can only guess.
But let’s just say that if evidence were shown that the only thing they ever read is hard-left propaganda blogs for Intersectional Feminism (a.k.a “identity politics) we wouldn’t be shocked.

Either Liberals just don’t get it, or they are sick in the head. Probably both. Think about it: They want to have all of the blessings that come with living in a capitalist society such as modern medicine and technology. But they believe in socialism, which stifles innovation and progress.
They want to be protected by the police and the military, but they attack and criticize the men and women who protect us. They call conservatives “racists,” but it’s their own identity politics that have created race problems in the first place. After all, Democrats were the party of slavery!
They attack hunters, but have no problem wearing leather shoes or owning cars with leather upholstery! And of course, they believe guns kill people. Not the people that pull the trigger.
