Elected Officials Like Bernie Sanders Need to Get Their History Straight

It is always good to remember where life began and how far one has come in that journey. The United States began as a dream of those who wanted to be free.

Settlers from Europe sought freedom to worship as they desired, to govern themselves as they thought best and to keep their lives private, not at the command of the powers that be.

It is always good to honor those who have helped along the way.

America has Judeo Christian roots. These beliefs have made the United States a sanctuary for those who sought freedom.

Does anyone recall the name of the man who spearheaded the provisioning of George Washington and the Continental Army as they were freezing in Valley Forge?

A banker named Haym Salomon, a Polish born American Jew, mobilized other Jews in Europe for financial support and exchanged French loans into currency in order to help finance the American Revolution.

With the help of men like Salomon and those who came here and volunteered to defend the idea of a free society, the United States won its independence from England and set itself on the path to a true Republic.

It seems that those in a position of power, such as the Congress and Senate, have forgotten whom they serve and from whence they came as people and citizens.

When Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer stands against the nation of Israel as he carries on his everyday politics and new religion of the leftist doctrine, it gives rise to the idea that he has forgotten what is truly important.

Then there is Bernie Sanders, the communist advocate, also a Jew, who also worships at the Left’s secular alter finds fault in a potential appointee, Russell Vought for Deputy Director of White House Management and Budget, because of an alumni paper editorial he wrote about his beliefs that salvation can be found only through Jesus Christ.

Sanders is quoted as saying, “Someone with this kind of belief system is really not someone who this country is supposed to be about.”

REALLY? SINCE WHEN?

Throughout the establishment of the United States, God has figured prominently in all of the initial documents written by the Forefathers. It is on our currency, “In God We Trust.”

Religious freedom was the number one reason the Huguenots, the Pilgrims and Jews along with so many other Europeans came to the Colonies. They found persecution for their beliefs and wanted to be able to worship as they pleased. For this reason, they undertook the enormous uprooting of their lives, leaving family and all that was known behind, in order to worship God as they pleased. They made this sacrifice for the love of God.

For a US Senator, who never had a real job until he was forty and that was in politics, to say that a Christian is NOT the kind of person to represent the United States is almost heresy.

The reason that a layperson was elected to the highest office in the land in 2016 was exactly for the express purpose BY THE PEOPLE, to return to the Judeo Christian values that were originally established and to try and eliminate the horrible advantages that the elected “representatives” are taking upon the American people.

No one is perfect, but when a representative at any level claims that we are not a Judeo Christian founded country, they are flat lying and it is time they were called out on it.
