Dear Leftists: Socialism’s ‘Something-For-Nothing’ Hasn’t Worked And Can Never Work

Written by Candace Hardin on August 17, 2018

The Democrats and the media are obsessed by the Mueller investigation about any Trump/ Russia collusion and possible election meddling. They spend a great deal of time reporting on the least scrap of innuendo or rumor while ignoring real issues of the day.

Being that this year has a midterm election, there are many primary candidates for available Democratic seats around the United States.

While some of the candidates are somewhat grounded in reality, per se, others have subscribed to an illusion. They are calling themselves “Democratic Socialists.”

Many such as Cynthia Nixon, (from Sex in the City) who is running for governor of New York, want to see socialism replace capitalism in the United States, as does Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the upstart in New York who defeated the incumbent in a surprise upset.

Nixon says she qualifies as a Democratic Socialist because she is for, “healthcare, housing, education and the things we need to thrive,” as a basic right of living.

She is running against incumbent governor Andrew Cuomo as a “Democratic Socialist.”

Given that Governor Cuomo just said that “America was never that great,” although his family made great wealth off of the opportunities available in the United States, he isn’t much to run against.

Nor is he any great prize for the state of New York with his nanny state policies.

Around thirteen generations have passed since the Mayflower Pilgrims landed in the New World.

Somehow, these colonists came to a wild, undeveloped country with a few skills and dreams and created a place to live, food and what homemade healthcare they had knowledge of at the time. Granted, they had a little help from their friends, the Native Americans in the area. There is no doubt that they would probably not have survived without their help, but the Colonists did not expect anyone to make their living for them. They took the lessons given and began working with them.

That is the key, of course, W O R K.

It is hard to say as to why so many people seem to have developed such an aversion to that particular four letter word which is giving rise to these utopia idealists.

There is no place in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights that lets people off the hook for earning their living and substance.

Actually, up until the time of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, there weren’t even any government social programs.

If one didn’t work, they didn’t have a place to live or anything to eat. The only reason that FDR put these socialist type programs in was because of the Great Depression.

The American People were growing desperate for some way to MAKE a living.

They wanted work.

One of the most successful programs he put in place was the Civilian Conservation Corps. It paid and housed unemployed and unmarried men as a public work program to provide unskilled labor to preserve natural resources.

These socialist programs were instituted because of EXTREME CRISIS.

What is the excuse to be longing for socialism or communism or communist utopia, as one purple haired young woman longed for, even as she admitted it was almost impossible to achieve, on a TV news show?

By the way, all of this interference did happen on Obama’s watch, the one these liberals embrace as the most precious of them all, but he denied it and did nothing, all the while ridiculing Trump for suggesting it.

If this socialist / communist way of life is so desired, wouldn’t it make sense to embrace any and all Russian influence and interference in the US elections?

It can’t go both ways.

Either it is wanted or not, but using the “Russians” as a stick to poke the legitimately elected President and the sixty million people who voted for him will not work.

The idea of everything “FREE” is just that, an appealing idea to those who want without making an effort to obtain the things they want.

Eventually, the bill will come due and have to be paid. Freeloaders will have a look of dull surprise on their faces when the payment due exceeds accounts received, and their belief that the “government” should pay for everything will be shattered. However, if allowed to run amok, the United States will be no more.

The government is the people paying taxes on the work and business they have. The government doesn’t make anything on its own.

Communism and Socialism are not sustainable, nor have they ever been sustainable in any country where these ideals are in use.

It is vital that Conservatives get out the vote in November to deflect these delusional candidates and be sure that the current programs of Capitalism, Freedom and Liberty are protected and continued.
